Residents' Council week 2025 is September 15th-21st

What is Residents Council?

Residents' Council is meeting of residents. That occurs once a month. Residents’ council is intended and designed to form the collective voice of all residents who reside in the Retirement / LTC home, whether or not they attend meetings. All residents have the right to participate in the Residents' Council.

Why do we celebrate Residents' Council Week?

Residents' Council Week is celebrated annually in September to recognize and celebrate the important contributions residents make. Fostering community, promoting peer support, and raising awareness about residents' rights and their role in improving quality of life. The week-long event was established to provide a specific time to acknowledge the efforts of Residents' Councils and the residents who actively participate in them.

For Residents' Council Week 2025 our residents chose the second resident right " Every resident has the right to have their lifestyle and choices respected", and explain what that looks like for them.
