Celebrating Women in Leadership

In recognition of International Women’s Day, our CAO hosted a luncheon today with some of the incredible women leading the way in our community.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect, share ideas, and learn more about the programs and services that make a difference right here in Nashwaak.

While there’s still work to be done in advancing gender equality, IWD is also about celebrating the strength, resilience, and contributions of women. And from what we saw today, our community is in great hands!

Lifeline offers seniors and their family members safety and peace of mind. Home units start at just $35/month and on the go (cellphone) units start at $45/month.

We are hiring a casual office assistant!

This casual office assistant will aid the Executive Director and Office Assistant with day-to-day office operations, coordinating administrative tasks, and ensuring the office runs smoothly. We’re looking for someone with exceptional organizational and communication abilities, along with a dedication to fostering a positive and efficient work environment. If you are prepared to make a substantial impact in our community, we encourage you to apply.

This role will assist with all daily office tasks such as: scheduling home support workers and volunteers, taking inquiries and providing support to all staff, volunteers and clients, accepting payments, assisting with book keeping, filing, and general organization of the office.

The ideal candidate will have experience in business administration, scheduling, and/or medical office administration. A background in healthcare is an asset. They will be passionate about community outreach services. They will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. They will always maintain confidentiality, be respectful, caring and compassionate with all clients and staff members.

The casual office assistant will be paid at an hourly rate (rate to be negotiated based on qualifications and experience). This is a casual position and therefore will not have any guaranteed hours. The office assistant must be available at short notice.

It’s time for another……

✨ Employee Spotlight✨

Cayley moved from Ontario back in 2018 - in a hurried pursuit of a slower way of life. Spending decades in corporate communications & marketing - she took time off to raise her 5 kids, alongside her husband. Knowing she needed some income but more so, flexibility- as her husband works long 24 hour shifts as a firefighter- Cayley was looking for a new career path that was less stressful & provided a more fulfilling experience than marketing could provide. We are so happy to have Cayley on our team over the last year!

When I asked Cayley what she loved about her new career she said:
“The clients have become such a blessing in my life & I cannot imagine not being able to be compassionate to their needs- whether it be personal, physical or mental care; each day is different and rewarding! For the first time in a long time, I look forward to going into work and knowing I am impacting someone’s life in some small, but mighty positive way. It is such an honour to care for a generation that ‘cared for us’.

I cannot say enough nice things about management. They are always as accommodating as they can be- the first time that an employer has really valued prioritizing the delicate work-life balance that all of us busy moms navigate on the daily. Thank you Outreach! Cheers to many more years!”
