Nursing Home Without Walls (NHWW) - Nashwaak Rural Community

Nursing Home Without Walls is looking for a reliable and compassionate Part-Time Bus Driver to support seniors in our community. This role plays an important part in helping older adults remain active, independent, and connected by providing safe transportation to appointments, errands, and social outings.

Job Title: Bus Driver – Nursing Home Without Walls
Location: Nashwaak Villa Nursing Home
Position Type: Part time; 7.5 hours weekly

Position Overview:
Seeking a reliable and compassionate Bus Driver to support our Nursing Home Without Walls program. This role focuses on safely transporting clients within the community to medical appointments, errands, grocery shopping, and social outings—helping them remain active and independent.

Key Responsibilities:
• Operate the Nashwaak Villa Nursing Home bus to transport clients safely and courteously
• Use a personal vehicle when required to transport 1–2 clients (mileage reimbursed + must have the proper vehicle liability insurance of at least $1,000,000)
• Assist clients as needed during transport and outings
• Ensure client safety at all times and follow all traffic and organizational policies
• Maintain respectful, professional interactions with clients, families, and staff
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Graduation from high school and/or GED
• Valid Class 4 Driver’s License
• Acceptable Service New Brunswick (SNB) Driver’s Record
• Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check (required)
• Clean driving history and strong knowledge of local routes
• Ability to work independently with patience and compassion
• Experience working with seniors is considered an asset
• Adaptability and flexibility in coping with changing needs, terms and conditions
• Experience in driving clients; asset if worked with senior population
• Must be able to life over 15lbs and physically able to perform all assigned duties.
Compensation & Hours:
• $25.68 per hour + 4% vacation pay
• Part time; 7.5 hours per week
• Flexible schedule

Nashwaak Villa is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-focused Activity / Assistant Coordinator to support our Nursing Home Without Walls (NHWW) program. This role is essential in assisting with program coordination, participant communication, and the planning and delivery of meaningful activities that support seniors living independently in the community.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Activity / Assistant Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
• Assist in the planning and implementation of a therapeutic recreation program
• Organize and maintain participant contact lists and required documentation
• Assist with marketing and promotion of the NHWW program
• Act as first point of contact for all client inquiries related to programing and scheduling
• Prepare reports as required
• Motivate and encourage participants to engage in activities aligned with their interests and abilities
• Communicate effectively with NHWW team members, clients, volunteers, and community partners regarding programs and events
• Maintain a neat and organized work environment
• Ensure proper handling and confidentiality of participant information
• Provide general administrative and program support as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Post-secondary education in Personal Support Work, Gerontology, or related field considered a strong asset
• Health care or senior care experience considered an asset
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals in a respectful, tactful, and informative manner
• Strong organizational skills, flexible and adaptable to changing needs and priorities
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated reliability, including a strong work ethic and attendance record
• Must provide a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must always maintain confidentiality and professionalism
