This week we acknowledge national hospice and palliative care week.
A palliative approach to care places the person and their family at the center of all decisions. It emphasizes understanding what matters most to the individual, and ensuring that care aligns with their values, preferences, and goals. Palliative Care Everywhere means care should follow the person, not the system. Whether someone is in a hospital, hospice, long-term care home, or their own home, they should have access to consistent, high-quality palliative care.
This week, let’s start conversations, break misconceptions, and recognize the importance of care that puts people first. At SLC we are here to bring hope, life and joy while providing a palliative approach to care, taking care of our clients until their last breath.
