We will be closing early today at 330pm dec 15th due to weather (I’ll be calling remaining patients from home virtually). I hear they are taking the plows off the road and our staff have to drive out of town to reach home safely. Hopefully better weather tomorrow.

We are looking for a part-time employee! 3-4 shifts per week (20-30hrs). Immediate opening, please send resume to thewildstrawberrycafe@gmail.com.

Duties:
-Prepare a variety of drinks and some food items.
-Restock disposables when needed.
-Provide daily inventory of groceries required for the day.
-Wash dishes.
-Clean tables, countertops, floors and bathrooms.
-Shovel steps in the morning during winter.
-Work quickly and efficiently during peak hours.

Admirable qualities:
-Be a team player and able to work well under pressure during lunch rushes.
-Have good customer service skills and attention to detail.
-Take pride in one's work.

It has been in the news lately that Nurse Practitioners might be able to bill the public system for essential healthcare services by April, 2026. I would like to be hopeful. Unfortunately there have been many disappointments on this front in the past. I experienced some of this on my journey to open the clinic.

If such a change happens at any point in the future existing clinic members will continue to have me as their family care provider (if they wish) at no cost until i retire (hopefully at a ripe old age on a beach somewhere).

I would like to be hopeful, but I don’t get my hopes up 🙂.
