Happy National Volunteer Week!

As we take this time to honour all of volunteers in the world and our town of Stettler, we want to share an extra big shout out to our PWLST Volunteers!

At PWLST we have many volunteers - from one-to-ones, DUET bike volunteers, music groups, kids groups, religious groups, and so much more. We are so very thankful to have these people in our community daily supporting our residents and care partners. Without you, we could not achieve the magical things we do. You brighten up our lives one smile at a time!

To thank all of our wonderful volunteers, we hosted our Volunteer Appreciation BBQ for them to show our appreciation!

If you see one of our fabulous volunteers around the community this week, thank them for all they do!

Are you interested in driving the DUET Wheelchair Bike for residents at PWLST?

We are looking for community members and family members to participate in our bike training. After completing the training, the trained individual can drive residents around on the bike, assisting in increasing their quality of life, reconnecting them with the outdoors, and brightening their day.

Training includes an in-class portion (2-3 hours) and a hands-on bike (20 minutes) portion to ensure comfort before taking residents and safety measures are understood.

Sign Up is required for the sessions. Please note the two different types of training sessions and sign up for the appropriate one for your driving wishes. Please contact Nicole, Recreation Therapist to sign up or if you have any questions at 403-740-7700 or rt.stettler@pointswestliving.com

What a wonderful opportunity hosted by the Stettler Public Library!!

The Alzheimer Society of Alberta & Northwest Territories has hosted education sessions at PWLST in the past and wow was it a very informative session.

If you are interested in learning more about dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, stop by this awesome education session!! Hope to see some friendly faces there!!

Happy Easter from Points West Living Stettler!!! We hope you had a wonderful weekend!!

PWLST Residents celebrated with our annual Easter Egg hunt, delicious Turkey Dinner on Sunday, visits from the Easter Bunny and playing a newly added game to our tradition - Bunny Races!!

What a week it’s been at PWLST!!

Residents celebrated St Patrick’s day with a party including green beer, cupcakes, and an audience interactive story! Fun was celebrated all around!

We then had the Stettler Senior Singers in to perform for us on Thursday!!

We ended the week with our ice cream parlour where we scooped up delicious sundaes!

What a way to end the winter season and to welcome in a beautiful spring!!

At PWLST, we like to say we know our residents very well! We also say our residents often know our care partners just as good!!

For the rest of the month, we are putting this to a test with a game of “Who is Who: Guess the Care Partners. ” We invite residents, families, and other care partners to take the challenge and see if they can recognize some care partners from around our community through pictures of their past!

Guesses will be accepted until March 30th.. with answers being revealed the next day!! Join us and have fun guessing!!

At Points West Living Stettler, we have started spring cleaning our main areas to make them more welcoming and enjoyable for residents, families and visitors!

One recent change is moving our shuffleboard to allow a new sitting area by our elevator! This also offers a space to watch the wonderful slideshow of pictures on our TV by the elevator!! Have you had a chance to sit in this new area?

We encourage families to join us by helping spring cleaning their love ones rooms to make it a clutter-free, enjoyable space for them to spend there time!!

Happy Early Valentine’s Day!!

This week at PWLST the love has been shared. While our community is covered in red and pink and celebrating love, we want to take this time to acknowledge all of our friends and family and the love we have for each of them!

Throughout the week we have had many visitors pop in. A big shoutout to Hayden for dropping off homemade Valentines to some of our residents!! We are very grateful for your love and kindness!!

Men’s Night - Some PWLST Residents were treated to a special night out to enjoy some local hockey!!

A big shoutout to Stettler Imperials Senior Hockey Club for having us out at their last home game! Also thank you to The Wright Builders Ltd. for treating us to supper and front row tickets!!

We cannot wait for the action to get started!!

As the Winter Olympics kick off today, PWLST Residents and care partners also celebrate in Olympic fashion!! While some dressed up in Red to cheer in team Canada, others participated in our version of Olympic Games including Mountain Grooming, Ski Run Testing, Mogul Setting ans Alpine Ski Jump Setting!!

Bring on the 2026 Winer Olympics!!
