Guess who’s back, back again?!
Cally’s back, tell a friend!

💁🏻‍♀️

But for real! I’m back … but VERY part time!
However, I do have a return time in mind for end of August/beginning of September :)

Here’s somethings to know about therapy at TWH:
🤍 Solution Focused with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy modality
🤍 EMDR trained for trauma processing (highly recommend!)
🤍 Sessions tailored to each individual’s needs
🤍 Sessions for individuals, families, couples - communication enhancement is my jam

Therapy need-to-knows:
- late cancellations/missed sessions result in 100% of normal session fee to be invoiced
- session fees increasing September 2025 - to be discussed with each client
- sessions are 50 or 90 minutes

Reach out to get on my list of those to contact when I come back with more regular hours! (So grateful that the list is already growing!) 🥹🙏🏼 Or reach out to me if you need a little check-in while spaces are very limited.

So grateful and so happy to be back!

Rosco and I missed you all!

If you only knew what it took to get here…

To feel the small joys
To be okay with slowing down
To feel confident in myself
To allow myself to accept the good things

The ups
The downs
The hard work and resilience needed to persevere when the healing got hard

I’ll never say it was easy, but I will ALWAYS say it was worth it.
I’ll never say that I’m done growing, learning, or healing, but I’ll ALWAYS say I’m ready to keep going.

We’ve all got things ..
things to work on, process through, feel and let go of. And often, no one else really knows just how much those “things” affect you.

That’s where therapy comes in. Where talking meets feeling - where healing happens.

I know I wouldn’t be where I am today if I didn’t go through the work of talking through the hard things and learning to feel through them. I know you can do it too - and I am always so honoured when people choose me as their therapist to watch them grow, feel and heal.

P.S
Each month is one month closer to my return to TWH on a more scheduled basis. See you soon… ish! 😉

P.P.S
Better wrap this up, the baby is crying 💁🏻‍♀️👩🏻‍🍼

TWH is 5 today! 🏡🤍

5 years ago today I officially opened The Wellness House on my Dad and Grandma’s birthday :) and I am proud and honoured to say I have loved every single year of having my practice in my beloved hometown.

5 years
Many clients (all of whom I am so grateful for!) 🙏🏼
Hard conversations
Emotional healing
Self growth
Lightbulb moments
Self compassion
Feeling the feels (BIG deal for all my “rug sweepin” friends!) 🧹

All things I’ve navigated right along side my clients. You all continue to teach me more than you’ll ever know. I admire your strength, courage and dedication to walk through TWH’s door. I am truly thankful you choose me, TWH, and Rosco to be part of your journeys! 🥹

Here’s to another 5!… and beyond!

🎉🎉🎉

P.S
I miss working, it truly doesn’t feel like “work” for me when it’s who I am - it’s in my heart to be at TWH - to be Cally the Therapist 🥹 I LOVE what I do! Who knows, it could just be a couple/few more months before I find myself back at it part time 🥰

P.P.S

When Harry Met Sally 🩷🐈‍⬛

More like When Ross Met Baby! 🥹

I still love spending time at TWH, even though I’m not working - I love the cozy, relaxing vibes of the space. Plus, I love Rosco with my whole heart and I look forward to our visits!

Although it looks like Ross wasn’t interested, he actually quite loves his baby! 💁🏻‍♀️

Happy Thursday All!

🤍✨🍼

Hi everyone!

I’m so excited to share that our sweet little baby arrived March 2! We are completely in love and so happy to be settling in at home 🩷

I’ve been loving this new chapter so much :) and am so grateful 🙏🏼

Still, I know in my heart that TWH and my clients will also always be so important to me. As I navigate postpartum, just know that I definitely do miss “work”! I miss you all and am sincerely hoping you’re all doing well!
And don’t even get me started on how much Rosco misses his clients 🥰🐈‍⬛

I’ll keep everyone posted on my return to work (still not sure when that will be).. but I bet it’ll be sooner than some may think 🙊

Don’t forget that there are some amazing therapists in the area ready to assist you in your journey while I’m away! Reach out if you want their direct contacts!

Always remember .. even on your hardest days,
You got this! (Even if it feels like you don’t!)

It’s come a long way in nearly 5 years! 🏡

Starting with a house with a stained glass window, a comfy chair and a dream … I’ve had the privilege to grow my practice and create The Wellness House from scratch. How grateful I am to have done this within my home town, my absolute favourite community.

As my maternity leave begins, I just want to say thank you. To all of the brave people who have stepped foot inside TWH as clients - I am truly grateful to have been part of your journies. To the parents/caregivers, thank you for entrusting me with your loved ones, it means the world. To the families who have all shown up to do their work, I am so proud of you. Thank you to all of the businesses and individuals who have donated to support TWH’s endeavor to provide counselling support at a lower rate for those who need it. And thank you to my family and friends who have been there for me, cheering me on and being proud of me - I wouldn’t be here without you! 🤍

I’m looking forward to this next chapter in life! As soon as I know what maternity leave will look like/how long it will be, I will let you all know. My clients’ excitement and encouragement for this new transition has been held in my heart and is making this transition easier - so again, I thank you!

Take care and know that I’m already excited to come back when the time feels right! 🤍✨

(Pretty sure I needed to hear that just as much as anyone else!)

P.P.S
If you’re in need of counseling support while I am away, I am happy to say I have a few different referrals for therapists in the area! Reach out and I can help connect you - you don’t have to do it alone! 💪🏻🧠

Change can be …

Hard
Terrifying
Stressful
Sad

It can also be:
Welcomed
Needed
Safe
Fun

For me, I struggle with change. I like consistency. I love the flow and normalcy of my days… it makes me feel like I can know what to expect and be okay with my anxiety.

BUT!
Things are about to change .. BIG TIME!

And while I’m so excited for what’s to come, I find myself being nervous, sad, and scared all at the same time. As I navigate coming to the beginning of my maternity leave, I just am so grateful that I’ve got to literally live my dream for nearly 5 years! 5 years of being truly happy to go to work each day because I genuinely have the BEST clients! 5 years of knowing that I am doing exactly what I am meant to do - being a therapist is truly in my heart. It’s been incredible!
And as the “end” gets closer, I’m scared to lose the sense of identity I’ve built and I’m sad to step back from my practice as it is .. Again, change is hard for me. BUT! I’m also ready for this part of my life to unfold. For a new chapter to begin!

… And that’s the thing I’ve come to learn the most lately .. the reality that dichotomous emotions can be felt at the exact same time.

We can struggle with change but welcome it.
We can be sad and excited at the same time.
We can be scared but also feel secure in our choices.

And instead of feeling disconnected from the feels (I’m talking to you, my fellow “rug sweepers” 🧹) … we can learn to feel both at the same time - and know that feeling relatively opposite feels simultaneously doesn’t HAVE to cause anxiety. It’s really just a part of being human because often change is inevitable.

So… Here’s to all of us navigating change and processing the emotions that it brings in the best we can! We got this! 💪🏻

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the team at TWH! 🎄❤️🏡

Rosco and I wish everyone safe holidays and if your season feels a little heavy, we are holding you in our hearts. 🤍
(Seriously though, Rosco is the BEST unofficial therapy cat and he cares for clients deeply - and often knows exactly when they need a snuggle!)
We are so grateful for all of you!

Take Care All & see you in 2025!

Gratitude Challenge 🤍✨
Day 5

For the final day of the challenge, we’re going rogue! 😉

Today I want to know what 3 things you are grateful for AND 3 things you like about yourself! 👇🏻❤️

Let’s finish strong with a little gratitude and self-appreciation this Friday! I’ll start :)

Today I’m grateful for:
- Sunshine ☀️
- Homeopathic Remedies for sickness 🙌🏻
- Getting a good sleep! 💤

Three things I like about myself:
- My memory (when it comes to clients, I am like an Elephant: “I never forget!”) 🐘
- My creative ability to decorate (if I wasn’t a therapist I’d be an interior decorator!) 💁🏻‍♀️
- My ability to feel the feels (not so long ago emotions were so scary! It took time but I am grateful to lean into them now and process through things wayyyy quicker!) 💪🏻

Strategy:
Body Scan

Start by taking 2-3 deep breaths (exhale out loud!)
Scan your body from head to toe - notice any tension or discomfort.
Send some breath to those areas.
Be mindful of your forehead, your mouth, and shoulders - lots of people hold tension in their faces, neck and shoulders and don’t even know. Relax those parts of your body.
Take a few more breaths and when you’re ready, wiggle your fingers and toes and gently come back to your surroundings.
Enjoy the feeling of being connected to both your brain and body 🤍

I have definitely loved this challenge and will miss reading the comments! Can’t wait to draw the winner for the prize on Dec 23!

Prize:
One apparel item from .co
Yeti tumbler from
2 candles from .ybees
Raindrop treatment from .with.soul
A hanging basket from Howe’s Greenhouse
And a bunch of goodies from TWH!

Thanks so much for participating! I hope the gratitude and strategies provided a little shift in your day as you navigated this busy season! Taking time for yourself so that you can show up as your best version is so important and I’m proud of you all! 🥰

Happy Friday,
Cally

Gratitude Challenge 🩵
Day 4

What 3 things are you grateful for today? 👇🏻
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every comment these last few days! Can’t believe tomorrow is the last day already! 🥰

Today, I’m grateful for:
- Christmas-y smelling candles 🕯️
- Amazing, honest clients 💪🏻
- Friendly community members ❤️

Mindfulness Strategy:
First: what even is “mindfulness”?
It’s a present and nonjudgmental awareness of current thoughts and feelings.

For this strategy all you’ll need is some time, a quiet background, and an openness to being self-aware.

Sit/lay in a comfortable position.
Take a few deep breaths - really focus on how your breath feels. Exhale out loud.
Imagine your thoughts and feelings as clouds floating across the sky. You’re merely observing what clouds come by.
You accept the feels and thoughts without judgement or an attempt to understand.
As you continue to breathe, your exhales act as a breeze that causes the clouds to clear from your sky.
If your mind wonders, gently bring it back to your breath, the clouds and the sky. ☁️

There’s really no timeline for this strategy. You can pick a song and when it’s over bring your awareness back to your surroundings. You can set a timer. You can just flow with the clouds until you feel done.

This is a true mindfulness strategy. And so if it’s hard, know that it’s a strategy to practice and with time it will become easier/more comfortable.

Let me know if you try it! 👇🏻❤️

Happy Thursday all!

P.S
I learn a lot about mindfulness from my dog, Ellie. She’s the most mindful being I know 🩷
You can see her in this picture, just watching the herd and clouds!

Gratitude Challenge 🤍✨
Day 3

What 3 things are you grateful for today? 👇🏻
(Have you noticed how you feel after you think of what you’re grateful for?)

Today I’m grateful for:
- A cozy warm home (and office!) 🏡
- That all my animals have shelters to get of this wind!
- The glow of my Christmas Tree 🎄

Mindfulness Strategy:
Calm Place 😌

Using all of your senses, visualize a space/place where you feel calm. Where you truly feel a sense of peace and relaxation wash over you when you think of it. It can be somewhere you’ve been or somewhere you make up!

Think of all the aspects of that place.
What do you see, smell, feel, taste, hear? Go in to as much detail as possible - as if you are describing it to someone who has never been there before.

When we utilize this type of visualization coupled with using all of our senses, we are overriding the part of our brain that is in charge of “fight, flight, freeze” (the amygdala). We are “turning on” our prefrontal cortex and are essentially telling our nervous system that we are safe. 🧠

Details are the key! - every tiny detail you can imagine/describe helps your parasympathetic nervous system operate more effectively (our rest & digest functions!). 🙌🏻

My Calm Place is the beach at Lake Couer d’Alene 🤍
I can tell you what the sand feels like, the temperature, how the sun feels on my body, the sound of the water, the smells coming from the restaurants near by - I can totally immerse myself there when I think of it ☀️

This strategy is useful when you want to feel more calm or when you’re stressed/anxious or elevated. It’s rooted in EMDR Therapy, one of my favourite therapies that is especially helpful for trauma processing. (Can’t wait to do more EMDR sessions when I come back from Mat Leave!)

** it’s called Calm Place because it is important for the visualization/imagination to elicit a feeling of Calm - it’s more in depth than to just say to yourself “my happy place” .. happy and calm, although both nice feels - are different. You can definitely feel happy in your calm place but the relaxed feeling is the most important **

Happy Wednesday! ❤️

Gratitude Challenge ❤️
Day 2!

What 3 things are you grateful for today? 👇🏻

Today I am grateful for:
- Clients who show up and love on Rosco (he absolutely loves them back!) 🐈‍⬛
- Reading all of the comments from yesterday! 🥹
- My family and friends 🤍

Strategy to try:
Cognitive Restructuring 🧠
(Good for my over thinkers who want to redirect their thoughts!) 😁

1) pick a 4-5 letter word (best if the word is an object)
Example: STAR
2) Take each letter of the word and think of 4 other words that start with that letter
Example:
S: sun, soap, silver, sofa
T: tree, Tuesday, time, tulip
A: ant, apple, …
You get the idea!
3) Do as many times as needed with different words. Soon you’ll notice all the “pesky” anxious/worried thoughts have taken a back seat! 🙌🏻

This is a good strategy to use when you just need to take control back from your racing mind! It may also be useful to help you fall back asleep in the middle of the night … I tried it and it definitely helped me get settled for sleep again! 😴

Happy Tuesday, you got this!
