Last year i planned to get to a drop in book club. Didn’t make it once. But i also planned to volunteer and i had to sign up for my shift and i made it every time. Usually when we have that extra dose of accountability because we signed up, we are more inclined to go. And I think that stands for Yoga too. After teaching for decades i can tell you that people attend more when they are registered. They just do. 🤷🏻‍♀️
The nights will get a little cooler and a little darker and Netflix may have a little more appeal. But 99% of the time, we are so glad we went once we arrive. That’s not just yoga! That stands for book club and pickle ball and the gym, but sometimes we need that little nudge of accountability of knowing we are singed up.
AND… LIFE HAPPENS….so, if you sign up for a Monday night but sometimes you need to come on Thursday, that’s cool! Do that!!
Let’s call it accountability WITH WIGGLE ROOM! If you need to swap out a class sometimes i love that! But you still know that i am looking forward to seeing your lovely face on the regular, rather than just getting to Yoga “one day”.
Now, i know this doesn’t work for everyone all the time, and that’s totally valid. But for those chilly and dark Alberta winters this can often offer the extra little nudge of “blah, blah blah….GO TO YOGA!” Haha!

Fall schedule is here kids!! 🍂 ✏️ ☕️ 🎃

By request, we have added a Monday morning slow flow AND a couple of other less traditional classes.

On Tuesday nights we have a journaling class to help with connection, mental health and mindfulness. I also just listened to a VERY thorough podcast on “fun” and am thrilled to announce this class checks all the boxes!! 👏🏼

And on Thursday nights we are offering a class that combines Yoga and Somatics (soma means body, so it’s just more body stuff 😉 ) to help add some tools to your tool box for those stressful moments that are just plain inevitable if you are a human on earth.

I will explain more about these later, but in the meantime if you have questions, just DM me. As my 8th grade English teacher used to say, “there are NO stupid questions”!! 😉

This is self care.
Thursday Alicia is TERRIBLE at packing a lunch. So Sunday Alicia preps the week. I make some straight up prepped meals and then also components like rice and ground beef that can be built into something and then when we all shift between work and home and dance we can eat food that is high in fibre and protein and lower in sodium…cause that works for our house.
Now, I’m NOT telling you to meal prep, because I am not the boss of you, but I am reminding you that sometimes self care has a real component of accountability with compassion. Soooo, maybe see how that would best show up in your life!
Mine is prepping food for Thursday so I don’t eat a sleeve of cookies for supper and hurt my tummy!

If Wednesday doesn’t work, we have a similar flow class on Monday at 5:30 and if that stiiiiill doesn’t work I am happy to give you a one class credit for the future!

There was a rabbit. So I took a picture. There is always a rabbit in this spot. And I always get so excited that I take a picture. My phone is rich with blurry photos of rabbits. 🐇
Sometimes the world is on fire….even literally.
AND there are rabbits that are so enjoyable you must take another picture.
Both things can be true. 💕
