You know your pet best—but here’s the tricky part: even though they seem fine (and most of the time they are), something could be happening on the inside that we can’t see.

Luckily, parasite screenings “speak louder than our pets” and one of the best ways to help detect disease (including heartworm) or infections that may be life-threatening or cause permanent damage.

Think of it as a way to check if everything is all right. It’s a small step that brings a lot of peace of mind. 💛

If it’s been awhile, book their parasite screenings today!

🐾 Fleas 101: Tiny Pests, Big Problems 🐾

Most pet parents don’t realize that fleas are more than just an itchy nuisance — they can lead to serious health issues for both cats and dogs.

🔍 Why fleas are a bigger deal than you think:
• Fleas can trigger allergies, cause painful skin infections, and in severe cases, lead to anemia
• Just one flea can lay 40–50 eggs per day, allowing infestations to grow fast
• Even indoor pets aren’t safe — fleas can hitch a ride into your home on people, clothing, or other animals
• Fleas don’t take the winter off — year-round prevention is the best way to protect your pet

Prevention isn’t just about comfort — it’s about keeping your pet healthy and protected. 💚

🐾 Shadow’s Story: Quick Action, Expert Care, and a Happy Tail at the End 🐾

Shadow came to us when his family noticed something was very wrong. He was experiencing abdominal pain, was unusually lethargic, and had unproductive retching — all signs that required immediate medical attention. His family trusted us to act quickly, and that timing made all the difference.

Diagnostics
Radiographs revealed a twisted stomach, a serious and life‑threatening condition. Bloodwork was also performed to assess Shadow’s lactate levels, a key indicator of tissue damage caused by reduced blood flow to the stomach.

Diagnosis
Gastric Dilatation–Volvulus (GDV), also commonly referred to as bloat, with concerns for a possible foreign body. GDV is a sudden emergency where a dog’s stomach fills with gas and then twists on itself, cutting off blood flow and trapping the contents inside.

Treatment
Due to the severity of Shadow’s condition, lifesaving treatment began right away. He received pain medication, IV fluids, trocarisation to relieve pressure in his stomach, and continuous ECG monitoring to help stabilize him.

Once stable, Shadow was taken to surgery, where his stomach was carefully untwisted. A gastropexy was also performed — a procedure that permanently attaches the stomach to the body wall to help prevent it from twisting again in the future. Because his symptoms were recognized so quickly, the surgery was a huge success with minimal impact to his gastrointestinal system.

As Shadow slowly woke up from anesthesia, he watched us intently, tail wagging the entire time. 💙 He truly stole our hearts.

💙 How is Shadow doing now?
Shadow was able to head home to his incredibly loving family, and we’re happy to report he’s doing wonderfully. We were all completely smitten with this sweet pup and so grateful to be part of his journey.

Stories like Shadow’s remind us how powerful early intervention can be—and why trusting your instincts and seeking care right away truly saves lives. 🐶✨

🐰🥚 To our friends who celebrate, Happy Easter!

While you’re enjoying your basket tomorrow, remember to keep those sweet treats out of paw’s reach as they can be dangerous for pets (especially chocolate and sugar-free treats with xylitol).

Wishing you a safe & hoppy holiday!

🐾 Hudson’s Story: From a Tough Start to Feeling Like Himself Again 🐾

Hudson came to us when his family noticed something wasn’t right. He wasn’t eating, was losing weight, and hadn’t had a bowel movement—clear signs that he needed medical care, and understandably worrying his mom.

Diagnostics
Radiographs and bloodwork helped us get to the root of what was going on.

Diagnosis
Hepatic lipidosis (Fatty Liver) and obstipation (Severe Constipation).

Treatment
Hudson was hospitalized for three days, where he received IV fluids, supportive care, and close monitoring. Because he wasn’t eating on his own, a nasogastric tube was placed to ensure he received the nutrition and medications he needed. He also received enemas to help relieve his constipation.

Throughout his stay, Hudson was an absolute star patient—requesting (and receiving) all the cheek scratches and head boops possible. 💙

💙 How is Hudson doing now?
Just two days after heading home, Hudson’s mom shared the happiest update: he’s eating like a champ, playing with his toys, and even enjoying some squirrel‑watching time. 🐿️😄

“I wanted to take a minute to thank every single one of you for the incredible care you provided to Hudson. The support and compassion you showed to him and my family will never be forgotten… Again, I can’t thank all of you enough—you’re an amazing team!”

Stories like Hudson’s remind us why we do what we do. We’re so grateful his family trusted us with his care—and we’re thrilled to see him feeling so much better. 🐱✨
