Day 6 - Spinal Flow Immersive - Honolulu.

I have been working hard, practicing and fine tuning my technique for Spinal Flow.

I have completed my 4 videos for submission to be reviewed. 🤞

Tomorrow is our last day. 😪 It has been an amazing week with 90+ other Spinal Flow students. I have had tremendous change through healing in my body and have witnessed change and healing of others through this modality. ❤️

Deep belly breathing, or diaphragmatic breathing, is a relaxation technique that engages the diaphragm muscle, allowing 100% lung capacity usage to decrease stress and slow the heart rate. By expanding your stomach on inhale and letting it sink on exhale, you trigger a "rest and digest" response, aiding both calming and digestion.

How to Practice Belly Breathing

Position: Lie on your back on a flat surface or sit comfortably in a chair, with shoulders, neck, and jaw relaxed.

Placement: Place one hand on your upper chest and the other on your belly, just below the ribcage.

Inhale: Breathe in slowly through your nose, focusing on filling your belly with air, letting it rise against your hand. The hand on your chest should remain relatively still.

Exhale: Purse your lips slightly and exhale slowly, feeling your belly fall naturally inward towards your spine.

Frequency: Practice for 5–10 minutes, 3–4 times a day.

Benefits of Deep Belly Breathing

Reduced Stress: Decreases cortisol levels and activates the parasympathetic nervous system.

Improved Core Strength: Helps stabilize the spine by strengthening the diaphragm, particularly for those with low back pain.

Lower Blood Pressure: Slows the heart rate.

Better Digestion: Helps manage symptoms of IBS and other gastrointestinal conditions.

If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, stop and return to your normal breathing pattern.
