Parkview Services for Seniors will be a friendly community where aging is celebrated and supported

Parkview Services for Seniors is comprised of two Ontario Non-Profit Corporations. The Mennonite Home Association of York County was formed in 1964 to meet the need for of a Senior Citizen’s Home in Whitchurch –Stouffville area. A 63 bed care Home opened in 1965 on Rupert Avenue and a further 49 beds were added in 1971. Residents and staff moved to a new building on Weldon Road in September 2006.

This 128 bed Long-Term Care Home is fully accredited with commendation. The Parkview Village Retirement Community Association of York Region was formed in 1984, to operate a 124 unit rental apartment building which provides for independent living along with a variety of supportive services in collaboration with care partners. In 1989, The Parkview Village Cluster Homes for Seniors Association of York Region was formed to provide an independent living environment under a life lease model.

It was inspiring to see so many residents come together, showing their care and commitment by making a meaningful difference in the surrounding community and grounds. Every effort counts and today was a wonderful reminder of the power of community action! 💚

Parkview Village had the pleasure of hosting The Men of Note this afternoon.
This special event was made possible through the generous support of The Stouffville Legacy Fund. Seniors from five other Stouffville communities were able to attend, with bus transportation provided thanks to this funding.

Parkview Village residents were privileged to enjoy this outstanding performance right in their home. The rich voices of the male choir and the talented female soloists were nothing short of extraordinary. It was a truly enjoyable afternoon, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who made it possible.

Parkview Services for Seniors had the privilege of honouring our 2026 Milestone Service Award recipients. Together, these dedicated team members represent an incredible 365 years of service across our Parkview campus and community.

We proudly recognized staff celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 35, and 40 years of service. Their loyalty, compassion, and commitment have helped shape Parkview into the welcoming and trusted community it is today. Through every season of growth and change, they have remained devoted to supporting our residents, tenants, families, and one another.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to each recipient, as well as to the families and friends who joined us to celebrate and share in this special day. Your encouragement and support are an important part of these journeys.

Thank you as well to our Board of Directors for attending and celebrating alongside us. It was a lovely afternoon shared over lunch, reflecting on years of service, dedication, and the many contributions that continue to make Parkview so special.

To our honorees: thank you for the care you give, the loyalty you have shown, and the lasting impact you continue to make each day. We are deeply grateful.

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, and today our hearts were full as we celebrated the amazing volunteers at Parkview Village. Each of you gives your time, your kindness, and your spirit so generously, and it truly makes a difference in the lives of everyone in our community. It was a privilege to honour you today, and we are deeply grateful for all that you do.

Fridays are party days at Parkview Village, and this week we were all a little Irish as we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️
Residents enjoyed festive green drinks, delicious food, and fantastic entertainment. And yes… Elvis was definitely in the building! 🎤✨

Thank you to Joy’s Fish N’ Chips for providing us with such a delicious lunch today! It was wonderful to enjoy great food and even better company. There’s nothing quite like getting together with friends over a meal and sharing some laughs.

Parkview Village welcomed March with a little pampering!

We were happy to host Conny from afyahorttherapy.com for a relaxing spa demonstration. The session began with a calming breathing exercise, followed by refreshing cucumbers for our eyes and hands. We then created a soothing blend of salts and peppermint for a hot towel treatment and finished with a rejuvenating essential oil hand massage.

Everyone left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and ready for the weekend!

February has been an active month at the Home. Residents enjoyed celebrating Valentine’s Day 💌, Family Day games 🎯, Chinese New Year 🎊, a birthday party 🎂, live music 🪕, and a dog visit 🐶.

Thank you to our incredible Life Enrichment Team, volunteers and everyone who helped make these experiences meaningful for our residents 🥰

Last week at Parkview Village, we joyfully celebrated Chinese New Year — welcoming the Year of the Horse!

Residents indulged in a delightful selection of Chinese snacks and teas while taking part in a fun and lively “Chopstick Challenge,” where impressive skills were proudly demonstrated. It was a wonderful celebration filled with culture, laughter, and community spirit.
