A room filled with sunshine, colour, and comfort. Our hospice home is a place where families can settle in, breathe deeply, and feel at home. It's not a scary place; it's a place for peace, care, and connection, where we make every moment matter.

🌿Serenity Garden Update 🌿

All of the concrete elements are now in place, testing of the water feature has been completed, and we're hoping to have the shade structures on site in a month or so. Preliminary planting and installation of the irrigation system are the next steps for this beautiful space before progress pauses for the winter months. Staff, volunteers, residents, and their loved ones have all enjoyed watching the steady development of the Serenity Garden over the past few months.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Shelley Johnston, whose thoughtful contribution to our Every Day Counts campaign was made in honour of Ron Johnston. Ron's legacy lives on through the love of family and friends.

The Every Day Counts campaign invites individuals to donate $350 – the amount needed per room, per day – to sustain care provided at Rotary Hospice. While government funding covers part of our costs, community support is essential to maintaining our high standard of compassionate care, offered at no cost to residents. Behind every compassionate volunteer is someone who supports, equips, and encourages them, and for Rotary Hospice volunteers, that's Chelsey.

On International Volunteer Managers Day, we're shining a light on the leadership and dedication Chelsey pours into her work each and every day. Chelsey supports more than 175 volunteers, ensuring that each volunteer who walks through our doors feels valued and prepared. Her work strengthens the care we're able to provide to our residents and their loved ones, and we are so grateful to have her on our team.

Thank you, Chelsey, for leading with compassion, courage, and a genuine commitment to Rotary Hospice. Your leadership helps ensure that together, we're making every moment matter for our residents and their loved ones. Our amazing team of volunteers is stronger because of you. 🩵

With deep appreciation to Orlin and family, who chose to honour the memory of Eileen Yantzi with a generous donation to our Every Day Counts campaign, paying for a day of care for one resident room. Today we celebrate a life well-lived and dearly remembered.

Your gift helps make every day count. By donating $350 to our Every Day Counts campaign, you help fund one day of care for a resident room, providing comfort and support during life’s most tender moments. Your gift is more than a donation; it’s a heartfelt tribute to someone you love and a way to ensure others receive compassion and dignity when they need it most.

Rotary Hospice offers care at no cost to residents, but relies on your generosity to bridge the funding gap. Together, we can ensure this sanctuary continues to serve our community with dignity and love. Learn more at www.rotaryhospice.ca/every-day-counts or reach out to lucie@rotaryhospice.ca
