A few weeks ago was National Homemade Soup Day, and here at Rotary Hospice, homemade soup is part of everyday life.

Each day, visitors and loved ones are welcomed with the smell of homemade soup wafting through our hallways. Delicious, nourishing soup is offered each day, as one of the many small ways we create warmth, comfort, and a place that truly feels like home.

And if you've ever had a bowl of soup at our hospice home, you know that Sue, our beloved kitchen team member, is something of a soup whisperer.

Tomorrow, we're sharing one of Sue's favourite soup recipes exclusively in our monthly e-blast.

💕Today, our team is wearing pink as a symbol of our commitment to something we practice every day: creating spaces where people feel safe, respected, and seen.

At Rotary Hospice, care isn't just clinical, it's relational. It's how we listen, how we show up, and how we treat one another, especially in vulnerable moments.

Today is a reminder that small choices, made together, help shape a kinder and more inclusive community for everyone.

Monthly donors like Christopher make those moments possible: moments of comfort, connection, and meaning for individuals and their loved ones during challenging times.

The steady support of monthly giving helps ensure hospice care is there, in the quiet, meaningful moments that matter the most.

There are only a few days left to have your gift matched by our friends at Quadro Communications Co-operative Inc., DOUBLING your impact for hospice care in our community.

This generous donation to our Every Day Counts campaign was made in honour of Brad Meinin on February 25 by an anonymous donor.

Your gift helps make every day count. By donating $350 to our Every Day Counts campaign, you help fund one day of care for a resident room, providing comfort and support during life’s most tender moments. Your gift is more than a donation; it’s a heartfelt tribute to someone you love and a way to ensure others receive compassion and dignity when they need it most.

Rotary Hospice offers care at no cost to residents, but relies on your generosity to bridge the funding gap. Together, we can ensure this sanctuary continues to serve our community with dignity and love. Learn more at www.rotaryhospice.ca/every-day-counts or reach out to lucie@rotaryhospice.ca

🩵 Time Well Given 🩵

Our Garden Volunteers help create peaceful, welcoming outdoor spaces where residents, families, and visitors can pause, reflect, and simply be.

In 2025, their time and care ensured places of comfort, beauty, and calm. We are deeply grateful for the way they tend our gardens so lovingly. Thank you for giving your time so generously.

This beautiful bouquet was generously donated by Flowers On York, and it brought some beautiful colour and a hint of spring to our hospice home.

We're so grateful for the care and kindness shared with our community. Thank you.

As part of our Myth vs. Fact series, we're addressing common misconceptions about hospice care.

One common myth is that hospice support ends when an individual dies. In reality, care and support continue for family members and loved ones through grief and bereavement support, offering guidance, care, and connection in the months that follow.

We are incredibly grateful to Jason and Loretta, the Science Hill Drifters Snow Mobile Club, and everyone who took part in their amazing fundraiser on Family Day.

This super fun day of snowmobiling and refreshments was also a meaningful way of supporting hospice care in our community.

Thank you for supporting our hospice home in this way, and for helping to ensure compassionate care is available when it's needed most.

A heartfelt thank you to our friends at Sirkel Foods! for delivering these beautiful Valentine's Day treats to our staff last week.

This thoughtful gesture brought smiles and sweetness, and was a lovely reminder that our community sees and supports the work our team does every day.

Thank you for thinking of us and sharing a little love!

💙"I give monthly because I believe in what hospice represents: dignity, caring, comfort, compassion, laughter and living!"

Cathy's words remind us why monthly giving matters. It provides steady, reliable support so compassionate hospice care is always available when it's needed most.

Right now, there's an extra reason to act: all new or increased monthly gifts will be matched, dollar for dollar by Quadro Communications Co-operative Inc., but only until February 28th at 11:59 pm.

That means your monthly gift will go twice as far, helping us reach our goal and strengthen hospice care in our community, today and into the future.

If you knew your gift would be doubled, would you sign up today? Will you be one of the people who helps us reach our goal?

Even the smallest gifts add up. Join Cathy and become a Hospice Hearts monthly donor today! www.rotaryhospice.ca/monthly-giving

Children experience grief in their own ways, and often need adults who feel confident, calm, and honest in how they support them.

This spring, join Rotary Hospice registered social workers for Children & Grief, a free community webinar for parents, caregivers, and educators. Together we'll explore how to talk with children about death and dying, what grief can look like at different ages, and how to support children with care, clarity, and compassion.

Open to parents, caregivers, educators, and anyone supporting children in our community.
