My name is Bethany Jillard Krohn - I’m a doula, a prenatal yoga teacher, an actor, a dancer, a sometime rockstar, an all the time mom and the founder of Breath of Joy Doula Care & Yoga. As an actor, dancer and singer, I’m coming to this work with decades of experience exploring the power of breath, movement and creativity. I’m continually inspired by how transferable my artistic skills are to birt

h work. Compassion, curiosity and empathy are invaluable tools of the trade for actors, doulas and yoga teachers alike! Pregnancy and birth offer an opportunity to relate to the innate strength of your mind, body and intuition. My yoga practices and doula care are designed to help people tap into this immense personal power - so you can stay open and centred through the twists, turns and dramatic surprises that are the hallmark of every birth and journey through parenthood. My mission is to increase your confidence and decrease anxiety by providing non-judgemental support and practical strategies that inform, uplift and empower you on your journey to parenthood and beyond.

The past few weeks I’ve been craving space to breathe and woo myself back towards light, wellness, peace. (I think we’re all there to some degree and for so many reasons.) Today, practicing out in the sunshine, I was visited by the breeze, by the birds who appreciate the piles of seed Alexandra plants all over the yard, by green grass, blue skies, speckled shadows, yellow dandelions and by a tiny baby bunny. The ground was bumpy and I fell out of every balancing pose I tried.
I felt profoundly grateful; enveloped by safety and love.
I prayed that all people be brought into that embrace. I thought about actions in the world that would help answer that prayer.
I stepped off the mat and into the day.

Introducing Breath of Joy Doula Care & Yoga's Signature Prenatal Yoga Series!
This 8 week online group series provides a unique opportunity to build a virtual village that knows no boundaries. Each session consists of an hour long holistic yoga practice designed to support and strengthen the pregnant body, integrated mindfulness practice to connect with yourself and your baby and to help prepare you for labour, and ends with a half hour of Q&A/social time. I’ll also be welcoming special guests throughout the series from a variety of fitness backgrounds and healing modalities to enhance our practice.
Tuesdays 11am-12:30pm ET - beginning May 18th

Always grateful for the support of my canine guru.

Today’s practice “choose to breath: revealing clarity” was full of surprise visits from Ricky, the dog, and Alexandra, the toddler... revealing to me that levity, spontaneity and an open heart are also terrific guides to clearing the mind.

Hello Brave Hearts and Happy New Moon!

I hope this Sacred Sunday finds you filling your tanks with all that you need. Make sure to rest today. To Breathe. To Pray. And maybe, even, a wee dance party. The New Moon provides us the chance to put our intentions out into the ether. Be mindful. Be specific. Dream big!

The first week of the Lockdown Love-In saw nearly 50 of us gathered over the 4 sessions to sit in silence and stillness together. That’s a lot of healing energy. What a blessing!

I am working on other ways to support you during this time which has been such a gift to me. I’ve been in conversations; plotting and scheming with people interested to add to the Lockdown Love-in mix. Stay tuned for exciting offers on the horizon. And please, if you have requests, or thoughts, don’t hesitate to reach out. I can’t make any promises other then I will do my best to do all that I can.

In the meantime, I will continue to hold space in a Zoom Room for
Stillness & Silence
Monday and Friday 10am & Tuesday and Thursday 8pm.
