✨ Art is Medicine ✨

At Inspired by Nature, I always knew I was guiding you back to your true nature with art. But over time, I’ve realized—this is so much more than an art class.

💫 It’s about authentic expression
💫 It’s about flow and ease
💫 It’s about exploration, healing, and growth

In our workshops, we have just three simple guidelines:

1️⃣ There is no right or wrong way to do art.
2️⃣ There is no such thing as perfect.
3️⃣ It’s not done until it’s done.

These take the pressure off. You don’t have to be an artist, or even think of yourself as creative. This experience is about finding your flow and letting go—focusing on the process, not just the outcome.

And the results? Absolutely beautiful. ✨

From little ones to Elders, I’ve witnessed the joy, reflection, and deep self-expression that come alive in these sessions. Art is often seen as a "fun activity," but how do you measure:

🌿 A peaceful mind?
🌿 A sense of belonging?
🌿 Self-expression and feeling truly seen?
🌿 The aha moments when someone creates something deeply meaningful?

The impact lasts far beyond the workshop—because it’s not just about what is created, but about the process of creating.

I know what it’s like to be art-adverse, to feel like a perfectionist staring at a blank page. That’s why it’s my honor to create a safe space and guide you into ease and flow.

🎨 If this speaks to you, let’s chat. I’d love to share more about this experience.

Since I started Inspired by Nature in Apr 2023, the slogan was "Guiding you back to your true nature." But what is your true nature?

Your True Nature: An Indigenous Perspective

In many Indigenous teachings, your true nature means remembering who you are at your core—a being deeply connected to the earth, to others, and to the wisdom within yourself.

Your true nature isn’t something to be found; it’s something to be remembered. It’s the part of you that feels in harmony with the world when you honor your gifts, respect your boundaries, and follow the path you were born to walk.

Key Teachings to Reflect On: Living from Your True Nature

🌿 We are All Related
We are all part of the web of life. Your unique gifts are vital to the whole.

🌿 Connection to the Land
The earth teaches patience, resilience, and change. Quiet moments with nature reconnect you to yourself.

🌿 Balance and Reciprocity
Life is a balance of giving and receiving. Honor your gifts and contribute to harmony.

🌿 Trust Your Inner Knowing
Your spirit holds ancestral wisdom. Trust it to guide you with clarity and purpose.

🌿 Living in Gratitude
Gratitude aligns you with abundance and your true self.

🌿 Faith in the Ancestors
Those who walked before us continue to support and guide us, bridging the past, present, and future.

A piece of my art was included in Lianne Rood's annual calendar and distributed to 55,000 homes!

Thanks to Kim at Lianne Rood M.P. office in Strathroy. Kim has organized an open house for all the artists featured in the calendar on Friday 17th from 1-3pm for me and the other artists featured in case anyone wants to come by and see me and my art. 🎨🖼 Feeling blessed.

What if the key to a richer, more fulfilling life was simply being yourself?

For me, authenticity is my word for 2025—a reminder to embrace my values, gifts, and purpose every single day.

But let’s be honest: authenticity isn’t always easy.

It means facing the parts of ourselves we’ve hidden away, the ones we fear might not be accepted. It requires courage to stand firm in our truth, even when it’s uncomfortable or misunderstood. It challenges us to move beyond perfection, beyond comparison, and step into the fullness of who we are.

Yet, in that challenge lies the greatest reward: FREEDOM. Freedom to live unapologetically, to make choices that align with our hearts, and to inspire others to do the same.

Girlfriend! Are you feeling called to embrace your authenticity in 2025? I am. It might be messy, I might make mistakes, I might trip on my words, but I don't care.

I can't imagine another year of burnout, fear, anxiety and depression, playing small, or dimming my light for the comfort of others.

This is your time, OUR TIME to shine. The world needs your light—just as you are. Go on... get shining beautiful human! 🌟✨️✨️

What's your first authentic action? Mine was to declare this on this page. Share in the comments or dm me.

Hey you! You’re here for a reason.

Every step you’ve taken has prepared you for this moment. The work you do isn’t just a career—it’s a calling. Your efforts create ripples of change, and that’s no small thing.

You’ve navigated challenges, embraced growth, and shown resilience in the face of uncertainty. You’re building something meaningful, impactful, and lasting. Yes, it’s big work—but big work is achieved one intentional step at a time.

Trust your intuition—it’s your superpower. Stay connected to your vision—it’s your compass. And don’t forget to breathe—it’s your anchor.

Doubt may visit, and the weight of responsibility may feel heavy at times, but remember: those are just passing clouds. The light you carry, the purpose you embody, and the gifts you share are far greater.

You’ve got this because you are this—authentic, capable, and unstoppable. Keep going, knowing that your efforts inspire others and create a legacy.

The world needs what only you can bring. Go shine your light. 🌟

New Year, New You? Or New Truth?

As I reflect on 2024—a year marked by heartbreak, resilience, breakthroughs, unexpected opportunities, and reprioritizing—I find myself deeply grateful.

Above all, my mission in life is continual expansion. For centuries, our ancestors—regardless of culture —have struggled under conditioning that convinces us we're never enough. I've always known there’s more to life than this, and I’m committed to discovering and sharing that with you.

In this leg of the journey, art has been my vehicle for this exploration. Through workshops, I invite others to embrace creativity, courage, and the power of letting go. The results are transformative, requiring vulnerability and trust, which I’m honored to nurture in the safe spaces I create.

Yet marketing these offerings has felt slow and heavy. It's a special person who is to receive my heart offerings. Many experts talk about beating the algorithm, but my heart-centered business isn’t about that. It’s about surrendering to what resonates and recognizing that success and failure are both valuable outcomes of a life well-lived.

Inspired by Nature Art & Wellness hasn’t grown as my ego imagined—but I have. In 2025, I’m choosing to surrender expectations and embrace each moment as it is. I’ll say yes to opportunities that align with my values and remember that true fulfillment comes not from applause, likes, or revenue, but from daring to act and live authentically.

As you step into 2025, I invite you to reflect:

What will you choose to let go of?
How will you embrace your power to create, speak, and surrender?
Here’s to a year of courage, creativity, and connection.
Happy New Year, friends!

With love,

I am Heather Cabral, founder of Inspired by Nature Art & Wellness. I am a “registered” member of Pikwakanagan First Nation. I’m not 100% sure of my family history, but here’s what I’ve been able to piece together so far. My family resided at Golden Lake also known today as Algonquins of Pikwakanagan FN. In the early to mid 1900’s they were forced to leave their home on the reservation, to relocate and assimilate in a Northern Ontario town. They sent their kids to mainstream Catholic school and were forced to integrate into the colonized way of life unlikely to return to their home community.

My grandparents had a big family, maybe 18 or so kids, so hiding their children from the authorities when they came knocking on the door wasn't possible. They chose to leave what they knew and to assimilate instead of losing their children to residential school. Thank goodness they did, or I might not be here to write this.

Can you imagine having to make that choice? Uprooting your family instead of having them forcibly removed? Receiving your children back as shells of who they were... disassociated, angry, and abused, rejecting you and your ways of life?
Maybe they were sent back to you in a paper box? True story.

On this day, please remember the agonizing pain, the tough choices, and the ongoing effects of intergenerational trauma. I share because awareness inspires action, understanding, and compassion. Please let the awareness begin with you. Thank you for your support.
