We are thrilled to welcome Dr Cheryl Letheren to McGugan Eye Care.
Dr Cheryl brings over 35 years of optometry experience to our family eye care team in Strathroy. She has cared for generations of patients across Ontario and is passionate about helping people see clearly and live comfortably at every age.
Dr. Cheryl Letheren has practiced optometry in the London area for 35 years and is excited to join McGugan Eye Care, where she will be working on Tuesdays, some Wednesdays and maybe even a Saturday morning.
Cheryl practiced in her own clinic until 2025, when she sold the practice to her associate. She no longer has any affiliation with that clinic and is looking forward to new adventures in Strathroy.
Cheryl has deep roots in rural Ontario, having spent summers on her auntβs farm near Tavistock and growing up with grandparents who used to own a market-garden farm in Etobicoke. She brings extensive experience in complex optometric care for the entire family, from infants to seniors. Her clinical interests include fitting all types of contact lenses, glasses, managing ocular and systemic disease conditions and providing specialty eye care.
In addition to private practice, Cheryl works at Parkwood Hospital in London, Ontario, a rehabilitation hospital where she co-founded Canadaβs first multidisciplinary vision rehabilitation clinic. She is an international speaker and has been board-certified as a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry for 28 years. Cheryl currently serves on three boards and volunteers on several committees focused on vision-related concerns. Cheryl is also about to launch two podcasts, WOW Health (Women Talking about Womenβs health) with two other allied health professionals and Dr Cheryl EYEDOC.
Cheryl is a member of the London Chamber of Commerce and earned her degrees from both Western University and the University of Waterloo. Outside of work, she enjoys travel, reading, crafting, and theatre events. She has three adult children, a pug, and a cat who thinks itβs a dog.
Please join us in giving Dr. Cheryl Letheren a warm Strathroy welcome. Your eyes are in great hands.
