You don't have to overhaul your life overnight. Taking tiny steps - not giant leaps - is the best way to achieve lasting results!⁠

Although it's tempting to put off weight loss efforts during the summer months, there's never a good time to make healthy changes and September won't magically make it any easier. ⁠

Many people gain 5-7 pounds during the summer because of poor food choices and increased alcohol intake.⁠

This means that you can take several steps backwards before you've even begun to work towards your goal. Instead, we recommend building healthy habits into your daily routine now. ⁠

For example, drinking plenty of water, adding activity, and keeping a food journal are simple habits that you can implement immediately. ⁠

Fresco Salsa
½ Cup Serving= ½ Veggie Serve with Baked Tostitos= 1 One Choice

6 roma (plum) tomatoes, diced

1 sweet onion, diced

1 medium red bell pepper, diced

1 medium yellow bell pepper, diced

1 bunch cilantro, finely minced

1 lime, juiced

1. In a bowl, mix the tomatoes, onion, red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, cilantro, lime juice. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Serve with Fresh Veggies or Baked Tostitos

The Weekend is here! Meal Prep, underway🥣

Tomato Lentil Soup ⁠
Serves 4⁠
1 Serving (approx. 1 cup) = 1/2 protein, 1/2 fat, 2 veg, 1/2 dairy⁠

Ingredients:⁠
2 tsp olive oil⁠
2 cups white onion, diced⁠
1 cup very finely diced green pepper⁠
1/3 cup very finely diced cilantro⁠
3 cloves garlic, minced⁠
1 tsp cumin⁠
1 tsp ground coriander⁠
1 tsp ground turmeric⁠
1/2 tsp garlic powder⁠
1/2 tsp oregano⁠
¼ teaspoon cayenne (optional)⁠
1 - 796ml can crushed tomatoes, no-salt-added⁠
1 cup canned green or brown lentils⁠
2 cups coconut milk⁠
Freshly ground black pepper⁠

Directions:⁠
Heat olive oil in a large pot. Add onion, green pepper, cilantro and garlic. Sauté until onions are translucent and green peppers soften. Bring heat to medium low and add in spices and crushed tomatoes, simmer for a few minutes . Stir in lentils and coconut milk. Season with freshly ground black pepper. Bring soup to boil, then reduce heat and simmer over medium low for 20-30 minutes or until lentils are soft and tender. If the soup is too thick for your preference, you may add water (approx. 1/2 cup water). Divide into 4 equal portions. ⁠

Refrigerate for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in microwaveable bowl or on stovetop.⁠

Have you tried the Herbal One Chocolate Bean Protein Powder yet?! It's gluten free and contains only 80 calories and 2g sugar per serving. Oh, and it tastes like chocolate pudding!!

Chocolate Bean Chia Pudding
Serves 1= 1 fat, 1 protein, 2 fruits

Ingredients:
whole banana, halved
2 tablespoons black chia seeds
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 package Herbal One Chocolate Bean Protein Powder
3/4 cup water

Directions:
Mash half of the banana in a small bowl. Transfer to mason jar. Add the chia seeds, cinnamon, protein powder, and water. Stir to combine. Allow the chia to sit for 10 – 15 minutes. When ready to eat, top with remaining banana.
