Through Ukrainian Eyes; A Gentle World. An exhibition by father daughter duo, Oksana Zbrustka and Andrii Zbrutskyi. In collaboration with The Ukrainian Nightingale Project, we are proud to present a new art exhibition by internationally exhibited Ukrainian artist, Oksana Zbrutska and her father, Andrii Zbrutskyi. The Ukrainian Nightingale project offers support to Ukrainians in the South Okanagan who have fled the war. Thanks to this project, this will be Oksana’s 4th show in Canada and the first ‘father/daughter’ exhibit since their arrival last spring. Despite their recent hardships of fleeing their homeland, Oksana and her father have been working very hard to create a new body of work. The Ukrainian Nightingale project and local businesses and community members have offered support with supply of materials, transportation, and housing. The South Okanagan Women in Need Society (SOWINS) women’s shelter housed Oksana and her two sons while her father was living with a Penticton local and Nightingale volunteer. Oksana was able to paint at the women’s shelter. The Service Station provided transportation and an inspiring space for Andrii to paint during the month of December. There is interest in her work to be exhibited in galleries in both Vancouver and Toronto and efforts are being made to recover work left in the Ukraine as a result of fleeing from the war.We are proud to host this very meaningful exhibition and hope that “Through Ukrainian Eyes; A Gentle World” will be received by the local community with great success.“Through Ukrainian Eyes; A Gentler World” will be available to view Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from noon to 5pm until February 10th at The Service Station in Lower Summerland. 5505 Butler Street

Laurita is a passionate Kizomba dancer and follows festivals and workshops all over the country. From Vancouver to Montreal, Laurita has learned Kizomba, Seman, Urban Kiz and Tarraxo as both a lead and a follow. Studying closely witty Nathan, Laura embodies the intimate and passionate essence of this beautiful dance.
She is an intuitive and heart led teacher and you will leave this class feeling inspired for more.
All levels welcome although the focus is on beginners.

Next Wednesday we welcome @nathanlundgaard and @laura_globe to teach a Beginner #kizomba dance series on Wednesdays for the month of December.
Kizomba is a beautiful dance of connection originating in Angola 🇦🇴. This dance is getting very popular around the globe with a strong following of students building in the Okanagan.
Nathan has been teaching many dance forms including Salsa and Bachata and is finding Kizomba to be one of his favourites. Laura has been learning Kizomba for the last few years and has traveled extensively across the country to workshops and festivals to deepen her learning.
Their classes are warm and inviting and very informative. You leave feeling accomplished and…cuddled! Yes, cuddled! This dance has a beautiful calming effect on the nervous system through sharing heartfelt and safe connection with your fellow dancers.
This series is focused on beginners but all levels are welcome. In truth, good dancers are always beginners at heart.
Etransfer to laura_globe@yahoo.ca or cash at the door.
We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful space for another form of art.

Beautiful new stock arrived today! We are so pleased to stock Kiln House Pottery by Lisa Prowse.
Lisa has been making functional pottery for over 20 years. Her passion for clay stems from the joy of working with her hands and the satisfaction of taking materials from the earth and turning them into something not only pleasing to the eye and to the touch, but into something useful.
The knowledge that her pieces are being used, appreciated and integrated into many aspects of daily life is most rewarding to Lisa.
“Firing” the stoneware in her natural gas kiln, allows Lisa to play with the kiln’s atmosphere to produce rich finishes that are varied and sometimes unpredictable, making every piece unique.
Lisa’s functional ware oven, microwave and dishwasher safe.
Come on down to see and touch her beautiful work!
We are open Wednesdays to Sundays from noon to 7pm.
