HPV Vaccination 💉💪✨

Vaccination is up to 90% effective at preventing the HPV types responsible for most ge***al warts and HPV-related cancers.

The latest 9-valent vaccine protects against the nine HPV types that are known to cause approximately 90% of cervical cancers, 90% of cervical pre-cancers, 75% of HPV-related vulvar, vaginal and a**l cancers and pre-cancers, and over 90% of ge***al warts.

In Canada, HPV vaccination is approved for:
Women + Men aged 9-45.

Where can you get the HPV Vaccine? 🏥
☝️The HPV vaccine is publicly available through Public Health Nursing for adults with risk factors for HPV (you can call and speak to a nurse to find out if you would meet the qualifications to receive the funded vaccine)

through your Pharmacist

PEI is the first province to now offer HPV (human papillomavirus) testing, instead of the traditional pap test, to screen for cervical cancer. With this new standard of care comes questions, and we want to be able to help you as much as possible!!

Nearly 70% of cervical cancers are caused by two strains of HPV.

HPV testing can detect the virus before it causes significant cell changes. It can also detect high-risk strains of the virus, which are more likely to cause cancer.
