If you didn’t see my last post, I mentioned that I had taken a video of me and Karitas first ride together.
Technically this is her 3 ride as my wonderful and talented friend Hailey Bergquist put her first two ride on her last fall.
Feel free to ask any questions. And yes I end up getting quite emotional once I swung my leg over her back. Starting your own baby that you’ve had since a yearling tends to make your heart swell.

My coming 5 year old RL Cowgirl Dream aka Karita and I had our first ride this week. It went absolutely amazing. I will be posting our whole ride on video next post.
My ole faithful Chica and I had a relaxed and productive training ride practicing all our reining maneuvers.
I plan to post our journeys throughout this summer. Stay tuned!

My son Luca who became obsessed with tractors 2 years ago has finally shown interest in working with and riding his pony Little Foot again.
I am sure Little Foot assumed he was retired… sorry bud now the real fun begins!
Without pushing my son, I hope to have them both trail riding by the end of the summer!

Dentist day! 🦷 🐴
All 6 of my herd finally had the chance to have their teeth done by the amazing Jackson of JH Equine
Everyone had great teeth except Bailey who will need her teeth done again in 6 months.
I am so grateful and blessed.
My horses well being is #1 and I am glad to hear the lifestyle I provide my horses has allowed them to keep their teeth relatively balanced.
Thank you so much Jackson from myself and the herd! 🙌🤗

My client and her horse Black Jack had a beautiful lesson yesterday. Black Jack had a bit of stress to work through being in a new environment and his owner did an amazing job of being calm and relaxed for him. At the end of our lesson he was dragging his nose in the dirt he was so calm.

The equine body is actually truly fascinating. Tension can definitely be a tricky thing to tackle sometimes but realize it’s just the bodies way of protecting a bigger weakness. There are times when it’s not the best option to breakdown the tension quite yet. It does come down to correct timing. After all, tightness is sometimes the only thing holding that horse together. If you do not have the tools to address the weakness that is there, you will find yourself playing one big game of whack a mole. Except this game is not fun and exhilarating. I hear so often that horses get worse after body work. And many times it’s because of this. It’s not just about getting rid of tension or tightness but also finding balance and strengthening the weakness(es). Make sure you as professional and horse owner are prepared to build your horse up once the tension is taken away.

My group lesson went absolutely wonderful last night!
Hobo and Cody taught their riders how to turn on the forehand and hind end which then led them to learn how to do a leg yield!
Everyone was successful!
Finished off the evening with a training ride on my girl Chica to continue prepping her for our 2023 Reining shows.
