We are delighted to announce that Dr. Emma Loy has joined the Moose & Squirrel team. She is an outstanding addition to our clinic. Please join us in welcoming her to our community. 🎉💕

Dr. Loy completed her medical degree through UBC’s Island Medical Program in her hometown of Victoria, BC, before moving to Edmonton to complete her Family Medicine Residency at the University of Alberta. She discovered her passion for rural medicine during her residency rotations at the Moose & Squirrel Medical Clinic, where she was drawn to the broad scope of practice, the welcoming community, and the exceptionally supportive and collaborative clinic team.

Guided by a belief in equitable access to primary care, Emma is committed to empowering patients to make informed decisions about their health. With a background in journalism and science communication, she loves making complex medical information more approachable to patients. Her clinical interests include procedures, mental health, refugee health, and both preventative and emergency medicine.

When she’s not working, Emma enjoys long-distance running and biking, and is always eager to explore anything outdoors. She also loves spending time with her two fluffy rescue dogs.

Dr. Sam Wong said it very well… To have a healthy population, a strong, workforce, a thriving economy, we need to look after the health of our people. Creating barriers to patients
by limiting access - through cost, limiting locations where immunizations can be accessed, will only cause harm.

It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to one of our incredible teammates. PA Kelsey has been such an essential part of our team — her dedication, knowledge, and positive energy has made a lasting impact on all of us.

While we’ll definitely miss her, we couldn’t be more excited to see her take this next step to grow and expand her expertise. There’s no doubt she’ll continue to achieve amazing things, and we’re so proud to have been part of her journey.

We took Advantage of the beautiful October weather and captured some photos of our AMAZING team at the Moose & Squirrel. We have really grown! Our team consists of physicians, PAs, NPs, Support Staff and great allied health providers from the Peaks to Prairies PCN.
