I am so grateful to my patients, who made my chapter in Abbotsford Massage Therapy so beautiful. Thank you for trusting me, and allowing me to grow, as both a practitioner, and business woman.

A big THANK YOU to Lisa, and the Team @ Barcode Hair Studio - Thank you for letting me be a part of your work family

Our staff and Massage Therapists reserve the right to refuse treatment if we deem the risks of viral exposure outweighs the benefits of massage at this time.

Scar tissue is formed by Collagen (a protein found in muscles, bones, and other tissues)

In healthy tissues, the Collagen that develops, aligns to give your tissues strength. However, the collagen cells that form in response to an injury connect at random. This sporadic layering leads to the buildup of scar tissue; this can cause pain and lack of tissue extensibility.

Some benefits of scar tissue massage include:

1. Decrease amount of scar tissue build-up. Excess scar tissue can make muscles stiff and slightly weaker.
2. Improve blood flow, promoting healing and the scar’s pliability.
3. Drains excess fluid to reduce swelling and proliferation.
4. Helps regain feeling in the area and decrease numbness, tingling, soreness.
5. Increases range of movement and the scar’s flexibility. This makes movements feel less restrictive and “tight”.

In September of last year I tore both my medial meniscus & ACL while dancing at a wedding. That's right, 2 ligaments in 1 night. Talk about an overachiever.

I spent 3 weeks on crutches, slowly increasing the load my knee was taking each day.

Fortunately the muscles crossing my knee were strong enough to help stabilize the joint itself. I did not need surgery. I am now in the gym 3x a week (give or take) working on gaining strength and mobility.

Cheers to rehab and injury recovery

If you're interested in finding out more about injury rehab and how massage therapy can help, shoot me a text @778-344-5189, or use the link in my bio to book in for a consultation.
