We had a wonderful forest event yesterday at Ruth Johnson Trail! Learning about how nature can help you improve physical health with lovely oxygen and healthy ions that promote circulation, physical stamina and strengthened immunity, natural serotonin production (our feel good hormone and important neurotransmitter) to combat depression and fatigue during these shorter and darker winter days, and absorbing beautiful energy from the trees, plants, earth and rocks that soothe and nurture the nervous system and can help balance intense or ignored emotions.
You can feel the spiritual energy from the vital elements around us. We also learned about phytoncides, beneficial bacteria that is inhaled and absorbed via skin, that help restore flora balance in the body. Quiet, reflective moments throughout our forest experience while using our senses help create a sense of peace and calm. We ended with a meditation and visualization around gratitude and closed with a lemon balm tea.
