Over the past ten years, I have been fortunate to volunteer with many medical organizations in many countries including Eastern Europe, Central America, and India. These experiences gave me a better understanding of healthcare and living conditions around the world. They also deepened my understanding of the value and power treating the cause of disease has and how far compassion and empathy go to assisting patients with their journey back to health. As a naturopathic doctor (ND), I am a primary care provider able to empower you and your family on your journey to optimal health. As your ND, I can assist you to optimize your health and provide education on how to obtain more energy, decrease chronic pain, and age gracefully. My goal as your practitioner is to provide support and compassion to all situations and to meet you where you are with your health.

Herbal Support in the Third Trimester

As you enter those final weeks of pregnancy, gentle herbal supports can help your body prepare for birth. Two of my favourites are Red Raspberry Leaf Tea and Mother’s Cordial tincture

Red Raspberry Leaf Tea
Traditionally used to tone and strengthen the uterus, this tea may support more effective contractions when labour begins. It’s also rich in minerals and antioxidants that nourish both mom and baby.
Start around 32–34 weeks with 1 cup daily and increase as tolerated.

Mother’s Cordial Herbal Tincture
A time-honoured blend used in the final few weeks of pregnancy to support uterine readiness and calm the nervous system. It’s meant to encourage a smooth, natural birthing process — not to induce labour, but to help your body prepare.

⚠️ As always, herbs should be used thoughtfully and only in low-risk pregnancies. Check with your care provider before starting anything new and stop if you notice early contractions or any unusual symptoms.

World Menopause Day - October 18th
Menopause is a natural but complex hormonal transition and not just about hot flashes. As estrogen and progesterone decline, women can experience shifts in mood, sleep, metabolism, cognition, cardiovascular health, and bone density. These changes highlight why menopause care must go beyond symptom management to address the whole body.

Supporting women in this stage includes optimizing hormone balance (sometimes through bioidentical hormone therapy), supporting adrenal and thyroid function, improving nutrient status, and maintaining muscle and bone strength through lifestyle and nutrition.

With the right support, this can be a time of renewed vitality and empowerment.

I wanted to share that I’ll be beginning my maternity leave this November and will be away until February 2026. During this time you will continue to be supported by our wonderful team of naturopathic doctors at & who are available to ensure your care is seamless and ongoing.

Iron deficiency in pregnancy is so common especially in the 2nd & 3rd trimester when baby’s needs are highest and with hemodilution. Low iron can leave you feeling exhausted, short of breath, foggy, and just not yourself.

I recently experienced this firsthand—my iron dropped recently in pregnancy and I decided to support my body with an iron IV. The difference was incredible. Within days I felt more energy, clearer thinking, and a noticeable lift in how my body was coping with the demands of the 3rd trimester.

Neuromodulators (Botox, Xeomin, Nuceiva, Dysport) are an established second-line treatment for excessive sweating (focal hyperhidrosis), particularly when topical therapies have failed or are not tolerated.
Candidates for this therapy are typically adults with severe, focal, primary hyperhidrosis that significantly impairs daily activities and quality of life.
Benefits:
- Rapid and significant reduction in sweat production (often within one week)
- Effect typically lasts 4–6 months
- Patient satisfaction is generally high and repeated treatments are well tolerated
- Covered by some extent health insurance

Risks are generally mild and transient. The most common adverse effects are injection site pain and, rarely, compensatory or transient sweating.
