Some people said, everyone is slim there.

I said, I'd say so.

I'm usually one of the lightest people in a room of adults. But on this day, I was the heaviest at 138 pounds.

Everyone else was around 125 pounds - 135 pounds ranging from 5'6 - 5'10.

For us guys, body fat percentage ranging 9.5% - 11%.

For women, body fat percentage around 15% - 20%.

Waist size ranging from 26 inches - 29 inches (me at the biggest 29 inches)

Now, there's not 1 person here that chases a weight.

Everyone here just enjoys exercise and sports and wants to be functional. Of course there's not a person in the world that wants to look bad, but looks isn't the focus.

There's a decent amount of people that just like exercise and sports, want to be functional, age well, have energy, and part of that is nobody wants to carry extra weight, because it's much easier to be lighter. Much easier on the body, joints, and far more efficient for energy.

I say to anyone, when you're working on fitness and health goals, see it for many things, not only one.

And remember, body and weight does not define anyone. Never will. But it is much easier to operate in life at a healthier weight. You can move a lot more freely and easily.

And as people get older you see people having to rely on medications for things. Nobody wants to be relying on medications. But some do rely on them. So the ones who think ahead, think ahead now about what needs to be done now, so we're not sitting there 5-10 years from now relying on long term medication to manage something. It's not an ideal way to live. We need to do the right things now to avoid that.

When I look at things that truly make people happy and fulfilled and what does not, what are some things that come to mind?

I can list lots.

Is it POPULARITY? Rarely is popularity something I've noticed that makes anyone truly happy or fulfilled. Someone could be known by everyone in the world and still feel nothing from that.

But what's something I've really noticed that truly makes a lot of people happy and fulfilled.

Here's one big one.

The quality of connections/relationships people have with their partner, family, or friends. If this sucks a lot, generally people aren't happy.

But if they have a good partner, family, and even at least a few good friends, they can be very happy and fulfilled.

On the opposite side, even when people have a bad partner/ relationship, their lives can be a nightmare.

The quality of relationships people have is truly one of the top 5 biggest things that make people truly happy and fulfilled.

But for me, I would put either faith and health and fitness and the very top #1. Because if someone has decent to good to great fitness and health and they are spiritually healthy, they operate from a good foundation.

But if health and fitness alone is severly lacking or there's spiritual gaps, this one factor alone can make anyone not very happy.

If I ask people, what are the most important things of your life?

These would be the most common answers:
-The overall health and fitness of your body
-Family, partner, and friends
-Work/career/purpose
-Faith

Here's a universal law. What people people their time and energy into gets better. For example, put more time into your work, your work gets better.

This law also works in the opposite way in that what people do not give their time and energy into, that declines, or dies out. Work too much, and don't put time into your family, partner, or friends, or fitness and health, that will decline.

It's simply it. Whatevery you put your time and energy into, it gets better. Whatever you do not put your time and energy into, it declines, falls apart, or dies out.

Think. For example, how many times you hear of people put too much time into work and their relationship declines or falls apart? Or like their health and fitness declines? Happens all the time in the world.

I know people who have done well in work, made a good money, have a good amount of material things, and yet their are still not truly happy. Why? They are missing fulfillment in other areas they realized later that should of given more of their time and energy into.

And while there's a level of money and material things necessary to sustain a comfortable or good life, anything overly excessive in that area is exactly that, overly excessive, because at the end of the day, everyone passes away, and all the money and material things accumulated are simply left behind, which at that point, has no meaning.

So while people advance one area, another area declines.

So what is the solution?

It's balance. It's always been balance. There's no other way.

Congratulations to the 2025 Most Valuable Performers (MVP)! You are now a champion!

I come from a sports background, so I recognize fitness and rehabilitation in sports like ways.

This is a yearly award presented to 1 person, occasionally a 2 way tie.

It recognizes someone for outstanding overall performance in their fitness or injury recovery goals, performs consistently year round shows commitment and dedication to their goals, motivated and pushes themselves, shows results that are measurable and tangible, and said, here’s my goals, and keep at it until it happens.

It’s someone who has earned a place with their name on the MVP Trophy alongside other MVP’s. This trophy is kept at the gym. They get their own award with their results engraved to take home.

Also, some members said getting the MVP is challenging because only 1 person gets that a year and occasionally 2 that often requires a year consistency in performing at a good level. They asked if there was recognition for outstanding performances for shorter periods.

As of 2026 and moving forward, I will be adding an ALL*STAR award for shorter periods of around 6 months as well as the HALL OF FAME award for the best of the best performers. I’ll talk about these awards in another post.

Fitness and health goals change at different ages.

When you are under 40, many people focus on looks, so let's say 75% looks and 25% everything else health and function.

But when you hit 40 and up, I recommend the focus be 75% health and function, and 25% looks. This is more important now.

Here are 2 women who are doing just that. They want to get strong and more functional. Take control of what you can. Leave the rest to nature...

I pick 40 as mid life generally because the average life of women in Canada is 84 years and men is 80 years.

Self development is improvement of valuable things to you: career, family/friends, health, fitness, spiritual, anything that is of meaning to you that you want to see get better.

For any progress in any of these areas to happen, it needs to start with truth. What are you not happy with? What are you happy with? What needs to change for you to be happier? And what are you really going to do to make this change happen?

Facing the truth is the foundation and the starting point of progress and better things.

I say, if you are not going to do much about it, don't talk about it because it's not going to happen.

But if you are going to do something about it, let's hear interesting things.

Here's some people that want better things and working at it.

I believe 2 things will always get you want you want in life or more. 1 you have to put in effort, make sacrifice, and overcome challenges.
2 you have to have the blessing from nature/god/universe for that to happen.
You have to have both for signicant great things to happen. If one is missing, it won't happen.

For example, you can work as hard as you want for something, but if it's not the blessing or alignmment or destined for you, that thing will not happen.

Or if there's a blessing waiting for you, but you don't put in enough effort to earn it, it will not happen either.

So get that work in, work with guidance, and you'll be where you really want to be and that's the place of greater happiness.

I often say, if you want the easier path, quit, make excuses, avoid the truth, and run from the people or person that will hold the mirror up to you. But I will tell you there may be a deep pain and regret from quitting on something you know you should have never quit on. But it will be easier. Easier is not happier. Comfort traps a lot of people.

But if you want to take the path of effort, discipline, sacrifice, and focus, it will be harder, but it's where you will find real happiness and fulfillment.

I speak with people regularly about real truths and deep things. A few people this week said, a lot of people, when they get older, just accept their bodies. Another person said, by the time most people are 40 and up, most have bellies.

My response, if people want to change something, we can do things to make it happen🙂 I"m here! Who needs motivation and energy, I got lots lol!

There is no perfect time to work on fitness and health goals.

Yes there are better times, but no perfect times.

Here's why. Some people work part time or full time, some are in relationships, some people have kids, people have friends and families, people have all kinds of other tasks to do.

Some or all of these things will consistently be in people's lives.

It's rarely a time someone just has time to work on their fitness and health goals.

It's a matter of making it a part of your life like you do other things. It's the only way anyone's going to get anywhere with the results they want to see.

When you put time and effort into something, it improves.

There will be times where you will have to focus on other things because they demand your time and attention, so you will have to step away at times. But if you're away from fitness and health routines for so long and going backwards with your fitness and health goals or not even really moving them forward for so long, then really it's not your circumstances. You'll have to look deeper and reflect more and you'll realize it's your lifestyle patterns, and simply put, you have other priorities.

Really it comes down to priorities. If you want to really make something happen, anything, it has to be somewhat of a priority if your life.
