We successfully concluded our October Research Mentoring Cohort 2025, a collaborative program of BMY Health Pakistan and BMY Health Canada, with a formal Closing Ceremony held yesterday, marking the completion of an intensive four-month research journey. Our interns presented their beautiful work and reflected on their learning journey. It was so heartening to see them transformed, talking like experienced researchers.

🏆 Best Intern Awards were conferred through an objective performance-based evaluation system (attendance, mentor assessments, and peer feedback) to:

Dr. Mamoona Javaid, Dr. Rabia Manzoor, Dr. Usman Hussain

This cohort achieved the highest success rate in the program’s history in terms of retention, compliance, and timely completion of milestones.

We are truly grateful to the team that made it possible including Dr. Syed Mustafa Ali, Dr. Suzan Sayegh, MPH, Dr. Aysha Zia, Dr. Dr. Javeria Mansoor, Dr. Owais Raza, Mehreen ijaz, Dr. Manahil Niazi, Dr. Surraya Shams, Dr. Aliza Hamdani, supported by Dr. Bushra Anwar, and Dr. Misbah Jahangir. We also recognize the role of technology including our new LMS and Jotform that made our team's work more efficient this time.

The Best Team Award, introduced in April 2025 to promote collective responsibility and research collaboration, will be announced soon. The award recognizes team that shows consistent support and collaboration even beyond the formal internship timelines, for the final manuscript submission.

As we close this cohort, we are excited to transition from a fixed cohort model to a flexible, group-based mentoring program, allowing rolling enrollment, individualized timelines, and continued peer learning, while maintaining academic rigor and quality standards. Follow-up Meeting with SATO

We had a productive follow-up meeting to advance SATO mission, reflecting on how this partnership aligns with our organizational vision and values. Our discussion focused on building transparency in our collaborative processes and ensuring that accountability remains at the heart of our shared work.

We also explored an exciting joint project planned for launch in the coming months, emphasizing the importance of transparent practices at every stage. Through this experience, we aim to develop a transparency framework for partnerships —that we hope to share with our partners to foster stronger, more successful collaborations and elevate our ventures through trust and openness.

Once we establish our initial mechanisms, we plan to open this alliance to all startups that share our belief in transparency, inviting them to join for mutual learning, support, and sustainable growth.

Dr. Bushra Anwar, CEO of BMY Health, spoke at the Rotary Fundraising Event on “Pakistan’s Challenges in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.”

Polio eradication remains a shared global responsibility. After decades of progress, losing momentum now due to misinformation or fatigue could undo years of hard-earned gains, putting every nation at risk again. With our frontline teams facing growing challenges and communities showing signs of campaign fatigue, this is the moment to stand together.

Let’s renew our commitment and combine our efforts to . 🌍💪

🌍 World Mental Health Day- A Message of Solidarity

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we stand in solidarity with a group of future healthcare heroes who are facing immense pressure and uncertainty: International Medical Graduates (IMGs) immigrating to Canada.

Behind every application is a story of immense courage; leaving home, overcoming immense hurdles, and dedicating years to meeting the highest standards of Canadian medicine. They bring invaluable skills and diverse perspectives that are the lifeblood of a robust healthcare system.

Recent policy changes in Ontario have introduced profound stress, exacerbating the already challenging journey for these dedicated individuals. The weight of such uncertainty can be heavy, and it's a reminder that mental health is a collective responsibility.

To all IMGs: Your well-being matters. Your is seen, and your future is valued. Please know that you are not alone. We encourage you to , connect with your , and utilize .

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

Today, we honour the survivors of residential schools, their families, and the children who never returned home. The legacy of these institutions continues to shape the health and well-being of Indigenous communities, contributing to disparities in mental, physical, and social health.

Let us mark this day by listening to Survivors’ stories, going beyond land acknowledgments with meaningful action, attending community events, amplifying Indigenous voices, and building partnerships. Reconciliation also means ongoing change; challenging colonial systems, unlearning bias, and taking responsibility for the Land we live and work on.

At BMY Health, we recognize reconciliation as a public health priority. Addressing historic harms, building trust, and listening to Indigenous voices are essential for health programs that are equitable, culturally safe, and effective. We stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities, committed to advancing health equity and creating a healthier, more inclusive future for all.

We’ve got big news! 🤝✨

Together with our amazing partners at ideas.org.es, we’re launching the Startups Alliance for Transparency in Organizations (SATO)!

We believe that the future of business is open, honest, and built on trust. SATO is our commitment to walking the walk—by sharing our journey, the good and the challenging, and helping other startups do the same.

This is just the start. We’ll be sharing our own transparency reports, building resources, and fostering a community where collaboration beats competition.
