โจ Celebrating the Closing Ceremony of Our Research Internship Program in collaboration with BMY Health, Canada โจ
Today, we successfully concluded another batch of the BMY Health Research Mentoring Program.
Over the past weeks, our interns engaged in intensive training in research methodology, data analysis, manuscript writing, and presentation skills. The closing ceremony was a celebration of their hard work, growth, and resilience.
As part of their journey, interns worked on diverse research projects employing different study designs, including:
๐น Qualitative phenomenological design exploring self-care practices of diabetes patients โ by Aliza, Saad, Farheen, Saba, Mehvish
๐น Case-control study developing a predictive model to distinguish between high-risk and low-risk cases of lymphadenopathy โ by Maryam, Ujala, Saba, Neeta
โจ We also proudly recognized outstanding contributions with special awards:
๐ Best Intern Awards
Dr. Aliza Hamdani
Dr. Farheen Atif
Dr. Maryam Aftab
๐ The Top Intern also received a scholarship (25% fee refund).
๐ Best Mentor Award
Dr. Syed Mustafa Ali
These recognitions were based on a transparent and objective process:
โ๏ธ For interns: 4-month attendance records, peer evaluation scores, and nominations from mentors/admin, focusing on active participation, quality of work, and professionalism.
โ๏ธ For mentors: scores from intern feedback.
While these awards highlight individual strengths, every intern and mentorโs contribution was deeply valued. Each of you played an integral role in this journey, and we are proud of the collective achievements of the entire batch.
๐ A heartfelt thank you to our co-mentors, instructors, IRB & scientific reviewers, and the coordination team whose guidance shaped this journey โ and to our interns for their dedication and passion. Special thanks to Dr. Tahani Zaidi (reviewer for qualitative study) and Dr. Owais Raza (reviewer for quantitative study).
We are also excited to continue supporting our interns through:
๐ Continued access to lectures and resources via our LMS
๐ Audits for ethical closure of projects & knowledge translation activities for effective uptake of findings
๐ Our Alumni Community, a network for collaboration, opportunities, and recognition
At BMY Health, we remain committed to nurturing the next generation of researchers and health leaders. Congratulations once again to all interns โ the journey of learning continues! ๐
