We asked our Community Development Services(CDS) team for a favour, and they delivered!

In support of our upcoming UNITI fundraiser on May 8th, we were seeking silent auction items from local businesses.

CDS took the lead, confidently reaching out into the community and securing a generous donation from London Drugs.

This is self- advocacy at its finest! THIS IS WINNING!

Thank you, , for being such an incredible community partner.

It was a little wet outside but our Participants were busy volunteering in the cozy barn at Kindred Farm! They helped feed the animals and clean the pens. Can't wait to come back next week!

04/21/2026

At Kindred Farm this week participants from UNITI spent time getting their hands dirty, and spending time with the animals.

Feeding the animals, cleaning the pens, helping with barn chores were some of the tasks completed. Every volunteer visit is a reminder of the incredible connection between community purpose and nature.

We are so grateful for Kindred Farm and for the amazing team who makes this space so special, including all our furry friends too.

Happy Vaisakhi! May the season of colour bring you lots of joy and happiness!

💛 With heartfelt thanks to United Way BC - Lower Mainland for supporting a Work Experience Opportunities Grant (WEOG) at Semiahmoo Family Place.

Since September, this program has been a truly meaningful journey alongside our valued partners UNITI - Semiahmoo House Society Together, we have created opportunities that have enriched participants, strengthened our staff team, and brought something very special to the families who walk through our doors each week.

Our WEOG participants have played a key role in building and growing this new program through Family Place, bringing with them a deep sense of warmth, connection, and care that is felt throughout our community.

This is what community looks like.

Together, we are growing an inclusive village with friendship, at the centre. When we come together in this way, the care we create does not stay contained. It radiates outward and touches everyone.

We are deeply grateful for this opportunity and look forward to building on this work together in the months ahead.

Self advocacy in action!

One of our UNITI participants, Cindy( bottom left), recently attended The Difference Project through the Self Advocacy Network. It was a great opportunity to explore identity, creativity, and what meaningful change can look like. The project focused on “Intended Differences.”

We love seeing spaces like this that centre self advocates and real life growth. We are so proud of Cindy for being part of this creative process.

Spring has sprung!

At UNITI, spring is a reminder that growth looks different for everyone. New routines, fresh goals, trying something new, reconnecting with community, or simply taking a moment to reset.

Just like nature, we all bloom in our own time. For many of our participants, it can take weeks or even months to feel comfortable enough to truly be themselves. Our Community Programs give participants a safe place to belong. When they feel seen, they make others in the greater community feel seen. It's full circle!

Right now, we’re loving the cherry blossoms: a beautiful reminder that change can be gentle, bright, and full of possibility.

In the comments, share a photo of your favourite spring bloom and tag us!
