How Tothicus’ Aromatherapy Came to Exist
Essential oils where the un-expected miracle of my life that began to heal me in ways I was only able to consider as a possibility after months of mental health healing. Graduation year of high school was a difficult year, I was still very much so young and dumb in my attitudes and was constantly fighting depression, as an added bonus I was also dealing with the emotionally crippling scars of an abusive relationship. School went fine, and I graduated with good enough grades but, the emotional pain was damaging and lead to a destructive self-medicating habit that involved numerous pain and emotionally numbing drugs. When the pain was too much, I indulged in a co***ne habit which quickly escalated to crack-co***ne and followed me throughout the next few years of my life.
Truly, the decision to get healthy was my own and to this day I am proud of it, I will be approaching my four year mark this coming October - but years of drug use and not dealing with wounds of abuse now had to come to a head. On top of this the weight I was at was scary – almost anorexic and I had completely destroyed the skin on my arms, they were loitered with the ravaging of being bored and high and relentlessly picking at the skin. I was not any sight to behold, I was a drug
addict and it showed. My confidence was gone. Sobriety brought the realizations to the fore front – everyone noticed, but no one was sure and now I was beginning to notice. I tried so many different things and the only thing that was remotely working was the thick Penaten creams loaded up with zinc and other lovely goodies. It didn’t make me feel any better and now I just had patches of white thick cream covering up my inflamed skin – I really hated myself.
Through this I discovered a natural soap company out of Boston - BudSuds - that specialized in creating natural and organic Ma*****na infused soaps and within these soaps they also contained Essential Oils (I had no clue what these were at this point) but I was thoroughly interested. It was the greatest investment I made though I was completely un-aware at this time. Healing was manifesting itself on my body, what the Penaten could not do, the pure magic of these Essential Oil and Cannabis based soaps was physically showing. Swelling reduced, everything was no longer scabbed or scaled over, it was fresh and pink as a new scar, but you could see it healing! I shifted my attention to more in depth research, and I began to actually note the essential oils and what they were doing for my skin, my posts about this soap switched to the use of Essential Oils for healing the skin.
