🤔Myth!!! I have a problem!!! I often hear elders saying not to eat cold ❄️ food 😱, what’s wrong with eating cold 🧊 stuff!! Summer is here, and I don’t want to take 🧃hot drinks, I want Chopped ice!!!🍨
What is the impact of eating cold food on the body? The body's response to cold food is comprehensive.
Today I will take you to understand it from the perspective of physiological digestion.
First, let me tell you quietly, eating cold food is not as scary as you think😅~~~ As long as you don’t eat it too often, it will be fine!
Let’s start from the perspective of gastric digestion,
The stomach is a hard-working digestive organ, secreting gastric acid, stirring food, and allowing large molecules in the food to be cut into smaller molecules through the action of hydrochloric acid. Simply put, the stomach is like an electric hot pot for cooking. We eat food as if we were throwing something into a pot. The finer the bite, the finer the cut of something to be cooked. The smaller the bite, the easier it is to cook.
Of course, the temperature in the pot and the mixing are also key. If you want to cook something, the food in the pot needs to be heated and blended. The hot food is much easier to be cooked and homogenized; when it's cold, mixing is not easy. The more effort it takes, the more energy-consuming to cook.
So is it okay to eat cold food? Of course, YES! However, eating too much or frequently will cause stomach overload! From time to time, the stomach will strike. The excess gastric acid will cause reflux (secreting more acid to digest food), Flatulence (more space is needed for stirring), stomach pain (the blood vessels in the stomach wall become cold and less fluid, causing cramps), indigestion (it takes more time to digest food), fatigue and weakness; Qi deficiency (all the energy of the body is used to support the stomach) of digestion).
All the above disadvantages are health problems caused by eating cold food for a long time. If you want to stay away from these problems, you must first get rid of the habit of "frequently" eating cold food. People with normal gastrointestinal function have no problem eating cold drinks or food occasionally, but people with poor gastrointestinal function should first maintain their gastrointestinal function, and then indulge occasionally!
