Life Skills Therapy Life Skills Therapy was founded by Amit Kumar, OT, and Lakshmi Gupta, OT.

We specialize in the rehabilitation of clients with brain injury, stroke, and other neurological, orthopaedic, and chronic impairments. Our experienced therapists focus on returning the clients to the highest level of functioning possible using a community integrative approach. Life Skills Therapy provide services to clients who range from school aged children to the elderly.

Weโ€™re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team, Thomas! Thomas brings a fresh perspective and extensive expertise to our clinic.

Thomas recently graduated from the University of British Columbia with a bachelors degree in Kinesiology and is a member of the BCAK in good standing. During his time at UBC, Thomas specialized in Neuroanatomy and Physiology for Rehabilitation and High-Performance training. He also has published research in the UBC SEEDs library and the Indigenous Physical Activity and Cultural Circle (IPACC) about eco-centric approaches to physical activity and well-being.

Thomas is a former National Level swimmer and has competed and trained alongside many of Canada's current Olympians and has high-performance training experience and expertise. As a swim coach, he has experience working with individuals of all ages and abilities and is registered with the Coaching Association of Canada.

Thomas practices what he preaches, living a diverse active lifestyle with activities ranging from Triathlons to Fencing and Rock climbing. Thomas spends his free time volunteering for his local hospital and can often be found out enjoying nature on sunny and rainy days alike.
