It is with a mix of sadness, relief, anticipation and nostalgia that Neal and I have made the very difficult decision to sell Stevensonās Pharmacy and will be embarking on a new chapter beginning on Tuesday, August 5. Frankly, it was never our intention to sell at this time, however, when a reliable replacement for Kelsey remained elusive and with government seemingly ignorant of, and uncompromising to some unique realities of rural pharmacy, we realized our options were seriously limited.
As Neal and I close this chapter in our lives, weād like to take this one last moment to say how much we have valued each and every one of our customers and merely can not overstate our gratitude for your many years of support and trust in our service. Many thanks to all of our former employees and an extra special thank you to Mel and the late Julie Love for putting your faith and trust in us to continue operating Mr. Stevensonās pharmacy. Thank you as well to our āfamilyā of awesome, supportive, neighbouring pharmacies who were always ready to help us out with advice, stock shortage or covering for us when we were closed.
Of course Iām crying as I write this. Last, but most certainly not least to Diane DeGraeve, THANK YOU for sticking with us all these years. Youāve not only been a respected, competent, reliable employee but a generous spirit, a confidante and someone Iāve been so very lucky to call my friend. š©·
Finally, Neal and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the new pharmacist owners of Stevensonās Pharmacy, Nader and Bassem. They are eager to meet their new customers and to continue to serve the community with its pharmacy needs. Neal and I invite you to please join us at Stevensonās Pharmacy on Wednesday, July 30 from 11:30 to 2:00 for a customer appreciation event and to meet your new pharmacists, Nader and Bassem.
May I now close by quoting A. A. Milne, the respected English author and father of my most favorite teddy, Winnie-the-Pooh,
āHow lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.ā
Truly only the very best of everything to you all,
Louise š
