Decolonization.

My girls are privileged to live in a time where they aren’t ripped away from me to go to boarding school.

My girls are growing up in a sober home.

My girls are growing up being allowed to practice their culture and spirituality.

My girls are a part of the ongoing healing and breaking of generational trauma.

We talk of this often; how privileged you are to not know the terrors and trauma of your unci’s and lala’s.

We celebrate the revitalization of culture and language. We honor those who have worked hard to get us to where we are as Indigenous people.

We still have a long way to go, and I am honored to watch and be a part of the progress. 🧡🌿

The qulliq, traditionally tended by women, represents life, survival, and warmth. It is a symbol of care, strength, and leadership. This Women’s History Month, we recognize the women who have carried this light—nurturing families, communities, and culture with resilience and love.

I've been practicing the basics of Polyvagal Theory since 2016. Today, I begin a training program that delves deeper into how this model of care helps with addiction. This course, The Felt Sense Polyvagal Model: Transforming Trauma and Addiction Treatment, should bring additional tools to the recovery process and to the development of a more structured and focused treatment plan.

Please feel free to email or call if you'd like to learn more and if this form of treatment may be a good fit for you.

Take good care,
Brenda

If you're considering expanding your clinical/professional skills, Leading Edge Seminars has a wide variety of topics to choose from.
