Green Lotus is a multi-tradition, environmentally conscious, full-service yoga & wellness studio located at 37 Nepean Street, Downtown Sydney, Nova Scotia. The idea and inspiration for Green Lotus Yoga & Wellness Studio had sprung originally from Nicole Cammaert’s love of yoga & her concern for the environment of our Mother Earth. For many years both Nicole & Nancy Bona taught in community halls,
in public spaces, outdoors and at home. They were very fortunate to discover their shared passion for the practice and teaching of yoga. Nicole & Nancy came to understand the need for a full-service yoga & wellness studio in the community. Finding just the right location was a big challenge. For a variety of special reasons they decided on the former Holy Angels High School – now New Dawn Center for Social Innovation. Green Lotus strongly supports the idea of community engagement, diversity and inclusion in the practice of yoga & wellness both “on and off the mat”. For this reason Green Lotus hosts the teaching and practice of yoga and healing through a wide variety of traditions. We believe all traditions and healing modalities have intrinsic value. What counts most is what is best for you, the practitioner. As you glance through our programming you will discover a wonderfully diverse set of talents and abilities offered by our staff and guest teachers. It is our hope that you feel welcome and comfortable in this community space. We are still in start-up mode, and thus means that no doubt we will stumble and fall from time to time.
