Our lives are so hectic and full of stress, time limits and deadlines that we don't take the necessary time to concentrate on ourselves. It is important to turn all of that off, even if it is for a short moment for ourselves. Reflexology helps our bodies to heal and repair. It is normal to become so relaxed that you fall asleep during a treatment session. Usually men will start to doze off half way through the treatment of the first foot. Women are a little harder to make relax lol. Usually half way through the second foot a woman will start to relax. If it is the first time having a reflexology treatment a woman may not feel the full treatment benefits until a second session. These short moments are so very important for our ability to manage the lists we are always checking off. Put reflexology on that list. I promise you won't regret it.

It's Stress Awareness Month. Reflexology can aid in the release of tension often brought on by stress.

Gently working the Solar Plexus reflex point can help turn off our "fight or flight"/"friend or tend" responses and move us into "rest and repair" mode.

Reflexology falls in to the category of being a mind-body therapy. Mind-body therapies are therapies that use the body to affect the mind.

Ultimately mind-body therapies are interrelated and form a cycle ... the body affects the mind, which in turn impacts the body etc etc.

In other words, our minds can affect how healthy our bodies are. Our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes can positively or negatively affect the functioning and health/wellness of our bodies.

Of course it works the other way around too. What we do with our physical body ... what we eat, how much we exercise, our posture, out quality of sleep ... can impact our mental state both positively and/or negatively.

It’s a complex interrelationship, this one between our minds and bodies, and sometimes we need support with it .... And that’s where Reflexology comes in.
