May is Physiotherapy Month—a time to recognize the impact movement has on our health, recovery, and everyday life.
Physiotherapy isn’t just about injury rehab—it’s about building strength, preventing pain, and helping you move with confidence.
Whether you're recovering, training, or simply wanting to feel better in your body, we’re here to support you every step of the way.♥️
May is National Physiotherapy Month!
We’re celebrating and saying a big thank you to the 29,000+ physiotherapists and physiotherapist assistants across Canada who help people move, feel, and live better every single day.
So, what is a physiotherapist?
Physiotherapists are primary health care professionals who play a key role in preventing injury, promoting health, and treating a wide range of conditions. Using a deep understanding of how the body works, paired with hands-on clinical expertise, they assess, diagnose, and treat pain, injury, and physical challenges. All physiotherapists registered to practice in Canada are qualified to provide safe and effective physiotherapy treatment.
Physiotherapist assistants are an important part of the care team, supporting treatment plans and helping patients progress on their rehabilitation journey.
What do physiotherapists do?
A physiotherapist's goal is to get you moving—and keep you moving well. That means helping you recover, reach your best level of function, and prevent future injuries.
Physiotherapists work in a wide range of settings, including:
• Private clinics
• Hospitals and rehabilitation centres
• Community health centres
• Long-term care and assisted living
• Workplaces and schools
• And even in your home
They also specialize in many areas such as orthopedics, pediatrics, pelvic health, neurological and cardiorespiratory rehab, geriatrics, sports, and more.
This month, join us in recognizing the value of physiotherapy in helping people move better, feel stronger, and live healthier lives.
