I was raised with northern values of hard-work, teamwork, generosity, and empathy. Shortly before I turned twenty, I found myself overweight with resultant lethargy. I felt others in my life deserved more effort from me, and ultimately I was worthy of a life of wellness and clarity. I took action and began eating healthily and working-out, losing 100 pounds. An introvert at heart, I summoned the courage to ask questions to learn more about weight training—ironically, the giant in the gym turned out to be the gentlest personality and the most informed mentor. I had new focus, and built a base of fitness and strength. The traditional trades did not satisfy my love of working with my hands, so I investigated other avenues, met my passion and found my purpose—massage therapy, its network of healing modalities, and the well-being associated with active living. I researched schools, saved to support myself through an educational journey of massage therapy in Red Deer, Alberta. Today, I am a massage therapist who has been described as having the perfect balance of pressure by countless clients. My passion continues as I challenge others to open their hearts and minds to new ideas and possibilities. I’m here to inspire change in attitude, through leadership and example, and to never stop learning about innovative approaches to treating and mapping the body.
