​Whether you're looking to learn more about our programs or just want to snuggle some animals, there is something for everyone.

​Meet the Animals: Come visit the horses and get some cuddle time with all of our babies! We have bunnies, chicks, ducklings, and our beautiful Ojibwe Spirit Ponies.

​Name Our Newest Baby! 🍼 Meet our brand-new miniature pony baby and help us choose the perfect name for her! We’d love to hear your best suggestions.

​Pony Rides & Fun: Perfect for the kiddos! Plus, enjoy great music and complimentary refreshments while you walk around.

​Information Booth: Meet our wonderful team and get all the details on our upcoming sessions, programs, and special events.

5 Years of Growth, 5 Years of Heart: Join us for our Spring Open House! 🌿🎂

Big things have been happening at the farm! This year marks the 5th Anniversary of Transition Acres, and we want to celebrate this journey with the community that made it possible.

Over the last five years, we’ve grown in ways we never imagined—most notably our recent transition from a for-profit entity to a Non-Profit Organization. This shift allows us to focus even more deeply on our mission: providing a sanctuary for healing, learning, and connection for everyone in our community.

Our Saturday Morning Saddle Club: The Little Horseman’s “Apprenticeship” is just around the corner, and we are down to our final two openings for the June session!

This isn't your average riding lesson. At Transition Acres, we go beyond the saddle to teach the next generation of horsemen and women what it really means to partner with these incredible animals. 🐴✨

The Details:
Dates: June 6, 13, 20, & 27

Time: Saturdays, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Ages: 7 and up

Investment: $480 +HST

What’s inside the Apprenticeship?
Over 4 weeks, our students dive deep into:
👂 Week 1: Foundations – Learning "Horse Speak" and the art of communication.
🩹 Week 2: Health – Anatomy and "The Ouchie Kit" (First Aid).
🍏 Week 3: The Athlete – Tack, movement, and a tour of the Feed Room.
🏆 Week 4: The Challenge – Groundwork courses, riding skills, and our Certificate Ceremony!

The Transition Acres Difference
Every student receives a Personal Portfolio to track their horse's personality, daily reflections, and a "Service Element" task that contributes to our mission here at the farm. It’s about responsibility, empathy, and serious fun!

Did You Know? The Silent Language of the Horse 🐴✨

Have you ever wondered how a horse seems to "just know" how you’re feeling before you even say a word? It’s not magic—it’s evolution!

As prey animals, horses evolved to monitor their environment 24/7 for the slightest hint of danger. To stay safe in the wild, they became absolute experts at detecting minor physiological changes in other animals—and in humans, too.

What does that mean for us?

When you stand near a horse, they aren't just looking at you; they are "reading" you. They can sense:
💓 Your heart rate
🌬️ Changes in your breathing patterns
📉 Shifts in your energy or muscle tension

This incredible sensitivity is exactly why horses are such powerful partners in the work we do at Transition Acres. They act as a living mirror, reflecting our internal state back to us with zero judgment. When we find our calm, they find theirs.
