In this 4 week series, we will look at the anatomy of the pelvis and its essential role in our health, different types of pelvic floor dysfunction and learn to identify if the pelvic floor is overactive or underactive.

March has taught me many things it also has been a month of testing. When things started to pile up with negativity around me I started to to keep a gratitude journal as part of my self care.
Anytime I was feeling down or the negativity was starting to suffocate me I write down one thing I was grateful for. For the first 3 days my pages where full that's how often I was thinking of negatative thoughts or giving into self dispare.
Negative thinking leads to negative emotions, leads to negative choices in life (known as a negative thinking loop). So the more negative your thoughts, the more likely it is you aren't taking actions that lead to the life you actually want. And negative thinking leads to low moods and often depression.

The act of meditation is to give your attention to one thing. I often preform my massage treatments while meditating, this helps me listen to your body and be a more effective therapist.
Did you know that there are 9 different types of meditation.

*Mindfulness meditation you pay attention to your thoughts as they pass through your mind. You don’t judge the thoughts or become involved with them. You simply observe and take note of any patterns.🧘‍♀️

*Spiritual meditation you reflect on the silence around you and seek a deeper connection with your God or Universe.🙏

*Focused meditation involves concentration using any of the five senses.👀👂👅👃🤌

*Movement meditation may include walking through the woods, gardening, qigong, and other gentle forms of motion while being in the present moment. 🧗‍♀️

*Mantra meditation this type of meditation uses a repetitive sound to clear the mind. It can be a word, phrase, or sound, such as the popular “Om.”🕉

*Transcendental meditation is more customizable than mantra meditation, using a mantra or series of words that are specific to each practitioner.This practice is for those who like structure and are serious about maintaining a meditation practice.😇

*Progressive relaxation also known as body scan meditation, progressive relaxation is a practice aimed at reducing tension in the body and promoting relaxation. Best one to use at bedtime 🌙

*Loving-kindness meditation this meditation is used to strengthen feelings of compassion, kindness, and acceptance toward oneself and others❣

*Visualization meditation this meditation is a technique focused on enhancing feelings of relaxation, peace, and calmness by visualizing positive scenes or images.🌌
