- Birth plan assistance to help you clarify your preferences for birth and explain the options that are available to you

- Access to my lending library of books about pregnancy, birth and baby care, to support your learning

- Continuous physical, emotional, and informational support for you and your partner for the duration of labor and birth, to help you hold and move towards the vision you created for your baby's birth. - One postpartum follow-up visit to celebrate the birth of your baby and answer any questions you have during the early postpartum period. We will also go over the birth at this time and I will provide you with some lactation cookies and the recipe for them. I charge $650 for my services; but I am open to bartering or trading services for up to 30% of that fee. I am also registered with the Doulas for Aboriginal People's Grant so if you qualify for that your services will be covered for up to a $1,000.00. As a midwife and mama, I am eternally in awe of the beauty and power of mothers. The path we walk as mamas and as daughters is a profound journey that can be at times ecstatically joyful and at other times wrought with difficulty and even pain or loss and its echoes on many levels.

So today I want to acknowledge the complexity of this day. Mother’s Day can bring up all the feels for us - whether it’s our own Mother Wounds - painful experiences of not being mothered in the ways you wanted or needed to be — family wounds, pregnancy losses, fertility challenges, birth trauma, postpartum depression, estrangements or other struggles, past or present.

Wherever you are on your Mama - or Daughter - journey, I want to honor the beauty, power and strength in you. As a mama of four, a grandmother, a daughter and a granddaughter, I continue to walk the mother - and daughter - path and have too touched, and continue to feel, the full spectrum of sorrow to joy, as I know so many of you have and contnue to. And it can feel all the harder on a day when happy Mother’s Day wishes also echo all around.

Whatever feelings you have today- joy or sadness, connection or the pain of loss, grief, separation, or all of the above and more, know that you are not alone.

Know too, that we all have that Inner Mother who is ever present and able to extend to us the tender, generous care we crave . Her voice, her wisdom, her comfort are there for you to give to yourself.

I honor each of you, and am sending you all my love and gratitude for walking this path with me.And I crave hearing your stories so please feel free to pour yours out in the comments and share this with others you know. 💕

To all you C-section mommas out there. You are amazing!!

Even when birth doesn't turn out how you imagined it would, that does not make you any less amazing or capable as a mother. No matter how you give birth, it is hard work and you can do it! Having people around you that are loving and supportive is very important no matter how you choose to or have to give birth.

Who would you want to have at your birth?
