Sounds too good to be true but it’s a highly successful treatment with long-term research and follow up. Like I always say, you can renovate, or you can do a new build. Pros and cons to both. Posted • When jaws do not grow to the correct size it is very difficult to put the teeth in their ideal position with their ideal angulations. When possible, jaw surgery in conjunction with orthodontic treatment allows for the best outcome. Thankful to work with and to transform this patient smile and facial symmetry!

Swipe left. You’ll see an image of my day-to-day wristwatch looking dusty and showing the number 16 in the date window. It’s an automatic watch, which means that it stops when not being worn and the last time I wore it was on March 16th. On that day, quite literally, time stood still for dentistry in Ontario as our regulator rightly directed all dentists and dental specialists to halt all non-essential and elective care immediately. Since then, I haven’t worn my watch, or any other jewelry for that matter, mainly because it’s an known infection control risk in the age of COVID. But I looked at it, day in and day out, wondering when time will start moving again and when things will get back to being somewhat normal.
However, despite time ‘standing still’ for , the team and I were far from bored; we kept the office open to treat patients with dental and surgical emergencies while concomitantly preparing for “our new normal”. We developed a telemedicine platform in order to safely triage patients and limit in-person contact. We tweaked our IPAC protocols to adjust to the new post-COVID reality. We sourced and acquired PPE to keep our team safe during the peak of the epidemic and moving forward. We made structural and environmental changes to our physical office space to make it as safe as possible for our patients now and moving forward. I truly can’t express how proud I am of my team and how they’ve responded to this unprecedented crisis 💯
While my watch may say that it’s still March 16th, I know that we’ve moved forward and prepared ourselves well for “our new normal” (and have the battle scars to prove it!). With all that being said, I’m thrilled to finally announce that, thanks to Directive #2 being amended by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, we can now once again provide you, our patients and community, with the full scope of oral surgical care that we always have and always will. Trust me, we’re ready for you 💯 See you soon!

An Open Letter To Patients

Before I was a surgeon, I was a kid from Thornhill. It’s where I learned to walk. It’s where I played. It’s where I laughed and cried. It holds a special place in my heart.

I left the area when I was eighteen. First moving downtown to study Human Biology at the University of Toronto, then to London to study Dentistry at Western, and finally to New York City to complete my residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Twelve years, three degrees and two board-certifications later, I was ready to come home. I envisioned a practice where I would be able to utilize my training and skills to better people’s lives in the community that I love.

The Davis Clinic is an embodiment of this vision. It’s a project that I’ve poured my heart and soul into. I scrutinized over every detail in order to build an office that is warm and inviting, adheres to the highest safety standards and allows me to utilize the most current techniques and technology available to do my best work.

I feel honoured and privileged to have the opportunity, every day, to treat people in the community where I grew up. Whether you live here, work here or are just passing through, whether you walk-in off the street or are referred by your dentist, you’re always welcome at my practice.
