Two common conditions, same area, very different treatments:

🔹 De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis
• Tendon problem, moves your thumb
• Pain on the thumb-side wrist
• +Finkelstein test
• Often improves with tendon exercises and mobilization
🔹 Thumb Arthritis (CMC-1 Osteoarthritis)
• Joint problem, at the base of the thumb
• Pain with gripping or twisting
• Bony enlargement possible
• Treated with joint mobilization and strengthening

💡 Why it matters:
Your therapist can pinpoint the exact cause, because tendon pain and joint pain need different approaches for recovery.
