➡️Acne can be treated with a combination of lifestyle changes, over-the-counter products, and prescription medications:
✔️Wash your skin: Wash your face twice a day with a gentle cleanser and warm water. You can also wash your face after exercising. Avoid scrubbing your skin, as this can make acne worse.
Use noncomedogenic products: Choose cosmetics and hair products that are labeled noncomedogenic, meaning they are less likely to clog pores.
Use over-the-counter products: Look for products that contain benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or alpha hydroxy acids.
✔️Use prescription medications: If your acne is severe or appears on your chest or back, you may need a prescription medication, such as antibiotics or stronger creams.
✔️Avoid touching your acne: Picking at blemishes can cause scarring or dark spots.
Use a topical retinoid cream: Retinoids can unclog pores, exfoliate the skin, and reduce inflammation.
Use a topical anti-inflammatory: Dapsone gel can help reduce acne.
✔️Use tea tree oil: Tea tree oil has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Use a witch hazel mixture: Combine 1 tablespoon of witch hazel bark with 1 cup of water, boil, simmer, and then let it sit. Apply to clean skin with a cotton ball.
✔️It can take 2–3 months of treatment to see an improvement in your acne.⬅️
