Subacromial decompression surgery has been used to treat rotator cuff-related (RCR) shoulder pain. 14 Trials Proved No Efficacy but Side Effects.
A 2019 Cochrane review (Teemu V Karjalainen et al, 2019) involving 8 trials and 1062 patients found no evidence the surgery benefits patients more than fake surgery (placebo) does. Compared with placebo or exercise, high-certainty evidence indicates that the surgery (subacromial decompression) provides no improvement in pain, shoulder function, or health-related quality of life up to one year, and probably no improvement in global success either.
Conclusion: True Surgery Works No Better Than The Fake One
