“My vision is getting blurry.”
This simple phrase can actually hide many different eye conditions.

Among them, the two most commonly confused are cataracts and glaucoma.
Their names may differ by just one letter, but their causes and treatments are completely different.

👁 If your vision seems cloudy, hazy, or like you’re looking through fog → it may be cataracts.

✅ Cataracts are mainly caused by UV light exposure.
Just like how egg whites turn opaque when cooked, the lens inside our eyes gradually “cooks” over a lifetime of sun exposure, leading to cloudiness—that’s cataracts!

👁 On the other hand, if you experience eye pain, headaches, narrowing vision, or missing spots in your field of view → you should suspect glaucoma.

“눈이 침침해졌다.”
이 말 한마디 안에는 수많은 눈 질환이 숨어 있습니다.

그중에서도 가장 흔히 혼동되는 질환이 바로 백내장과 녹내장인데요. 이름은 한 글자 차이지만, 원인과 치료법은 전혀 다릅니다.

👁 만약 눈앞이 흐리게 보이거나 구름 낀 것처럼 뿌옇게 보인다면 → 백내장일 가능성이 높습니다.

✅특히 백내장은 자외선이 주요 원인인데
단백질이 익으면 흰색으로 변하듯(예: 달걀),
우리 눈 속의 수정체도 평생 자외선에 의해 서서히 ‘익어가며’ 혼탁이 생기는 것이 바로 백내장인거죠!

👁 하지만 안구나 두통을 동반하고 시야가 점점 좁아지고, 보이지 않는 부분이 생긴다면 → 녹내장을 의심해야 합니다.
