Dear colleagues,

We are glad to share our recently published article in the Cureus online journal:
"The Present and Future of Pain Management in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease: A Narrative Review"(https://lnkd.in/eemBxyjd).

Our clinic see many patients with CKD (chronic kidney disease) in my chronic pain practice, and it significantly restricts the treatment options for pain management.
This prompted me to review the published articles regarding the treatment of acute and chronic pain in patients with various stages of CKD.

The paper describes the most current treatment options as well as emerging approaches for improving patient pain control and quality of life.

We prepared algorithms for pain management strategies for chronic pain patients with all Stages of CKD, perioperative pain, and acute pain. I hope they can be useful to family physicians, emergency doctors, pain practitioners, neurologists, surgeons, and other specialists in their everyday practice.

Thank you to Dr. Francesca Sarzetto, Budvin Wijetillake, and Sydney Verdun for your help and contribution to this work!
