Time to get the heart pumping with some small hops! These little jumps require no equipment and can be performed wherever and whenever. Jumping builds strength and improves muscle tone, is an excellent calorie-burner, improves balance and muscle coordination, metabolism and heart health.

So... let's get hopping!
1. Stand with your feet shoulder distance apart
2. Place your hands on your waist and slightly bend your knees
3. Hop upwards

Try to do as many small hops as you can in 30 seconds. And remember: we're going for speed, not height.

Did you know that muscle tension in the quadriceps can lead to back and knee pain, overall tightness, and reduced mobility? Luckily a few minutes of stretching a day can save you from this discomfort.

There are a lot of quad stretches, but today we're going to demonstrate a simple yet effective quad stretch that you can perform anywhere, anytime.

1. Stand on one leg with your knees touching. Hold onto a chair or the wall for balance, if needed.
2. Grab your right foot with your right hand and carefully pul it towards your glutes. Make sure your knee is pointing to the ground. Do not pull the knee backwards or sideways.
3. Push your chest up and out and your hips forward. Focus on the stretch in your hips.
4. Hold for 30 seconds and then switch legs. Perform 3 sets per leg.

This hip extension exercise is great for lengthening and opening up the front of the hip. The exercise is especially effective if you sit a lot, as sitting can cause tighter hip flexor muscles and weaker hamstrings.

Let's stretch!
1. Stand behind a chair and hold onto the back for stability.
2. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and slightly bend your knees.
3. Maintain a straight line in your body and pull your right leg back as far as possible, keeping your leg straight and spine still.
4. Slowly return to the starting position.
5. Repeat and switch legs after 10 stretches.

Are you looking for an exercise that will activate your hip and glute muscles, and strengthen your core? Try the monster walk!

1. Place a resistance band around your ankles, knees, or upper legs, depending on your range of motion and the level of resistance you want to create.
2. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, bend your knees and squat down a bit.
3. Take diagonal steps, moving ahead and outwards. Keep your hips and feet parallel during the movement and always keep your knees pointing out.

Symptoms of heat exhaustion include weakness, heavy sweating, and nausea, while heatstroke is marked by a high body temperature, rapid pulse, and possible unconsciousness.

The Sternocleidomastoid (SCM) stretch is one of the most popular stretches provided by our clinicians. Why? Because many of our patients who work a sedentary job experience neck pain, due to improper posture.⁠

SCM pain can also have other causes, including overhead work, injuries such as whiplash or falls, sleeping on your stomach with your head turned to one side, and shallow chest breathing.⁠
⁠
Stretching the SCM muscle can help relieve the pain. So let's stretch!
1. Sit up straight and point your chin towards your left shoulder while keeping your shoulders relaxed.
2. Hold for 30 seconds and then relax by looking up to the right side.
3. Switch sides.
