Please note: the elevator at the Fort William Clinic (1260 Golf Links Rd) is out of order. It is anticipated the elevator will be back in service by January 25, 2024.

If you have an appointment from January 18 to January 23 and require the elevator to access the Fort William Clinic on the second floor, please contact us at 807-626-1234 to reschedule your appointment.

Flu shot season is now upon us and we will be holding our annual flu vaccine clinics once again! We will also have Moderna XBB.1.5 available at these times for anyone who qualifies. For patients of the clinic please call 807-626-1234 and select option #2 to book with one of our nurses!
High Risk clinics will be held on the following days:
Oct 23rd
Oct 24th
Oct 30th
Current eligibility during these times is as follows:
• Residents and staff of congregate living settings (e.g. chronic care facilities, retirement homes)
• People > 65 years of age
• All pregnant individuals
Health care workers and first responders
• All children 6 months to 4 years of age
• Individuals who are from a First Nation, Inuit or Métis community, and/or who self-identify as First Nation, Inuit or Métis, and their household members
• Members of racialized and other equity deserving communities
• Individuals 6 months of age and older with the following underlying health conditions:
• Cardiac or pulmonary disorders, Diabetes mellitus or other metabolic disease, Cancer, Conditions or medication which compromise the immune system, Renal disease, Anemia or hemoglobinopathy, Neurologic or neurodevelopment conditions, Morbid obesity (body mass index of >40), Children and adolescents (6 months to 18 years) undergoing treatment with acetylsalicylic acid for long periods

*For Covid vaccines a minimum of 3 months (84 days) since last Covid dose or confirmed case of Covid 19.

*Please note that if you have If you have received the Imavamune (MPOX) vaccine you must wait 4 weeks prior or post to receive the Covid vaccine or if you have received the Arexvy (RSV) vaccine you must wait 2 weeks prior or post to receive the Covid vaccine.

After Oct 31, 2023 all other members of the clinic will be able to book flu/covid shots on the following days:

We now have the Moderna Bivalent vaccine available for members of the clinic! The booster is available for anyone 18+. For optimal protection there is a recommended 6 month (minimum 3 month) interval from your last Covid vaccine or Covid infection. If you belong to the group listed below, they are recommending you get the bivalent as soon as possible (minimum 3 months).
-Individuals aged 70+
-Residents of LTC homes, retirement lodges, elder care lodges, and other congregate settings
-First Nation, Inuit & Metis individuals and their non-Indigenous household members aged 18+
-Moderately to severely immunocompromised individuals
-Pregnant individuals aged 18+
-Health care workers aged 18+

We also have the original Moderna available for anyone who requires it as part of their primary series.

Last weekend there was 16 of us from the clinic that attended the Inaugural 24 hr Highnoon 24 hr race and relay put on by UpRiver Running. It was a fantastic weekend; we braved the rain, wind, sun and many many bugs. Here are some photos of the event. We are so proud that we could have some many of us represent the clinic!

Hello Everyone!
As of Monday May 16, all patients will need to present in person for the walk-in clinic. We ask that you arrive no earlier than 4:45 for the evening walk-in. We are also still requiring a mask in the clinic.

Walk in is available at the following times:
Doctor lead walk-in:
Monday - Thursday from 5pm - 8pm (walk-in beginning at 4:45pm)
Saturday from 9am - 12pm (walk-in beginning at 9:00am)
Nurse Practitioner lead walk-in:
Monday from 1pm - 4pm (walk-in beginning at 12:45pm)
Friday from 9am - 12pm (walk-in beginning at 9:00am)

The Province has now announced that it is expanding eligibility for 4th doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Individuals aged 60 and over as well as First Nation, Inuit and Metis individuals and their household members aged 18 and over will be eligible starting Thursday, April 7, 2022. 4th doses, or 2nd booster doses, are being offered to these individuals at a recommended interval of 5 months (140 days) after receiving their last booster. Eligible individuals can receive the fourth dose as early as 3 months (84 days) after their last booster if they choose. If you have tested positive for Covid-19, it is recommended to wait 3 months post infection, before receiving any booster doses of the Covid-19 Vaccine.

Individuals who are immunocompromised and seniors living in congregate settings, such as long-term care homes, are already eligible for 4th doses.

The Fort William Clinic will be administering the Moderna Covid-19 Vaccine. If you are eligible for the 4th dose, you may call the clinic and book in with one of the nurses. We will be holding Covid-19 Vaccine Clinics at a later date, to be determined.

The evidence shows that protection against severe disease and hospitalization from COVID-19 is higher in people who received a booster dose, however, immunity can wane over time, whether following vaccination or COVID-19 infection. An additional booster is beneficial in restoring that protection.
