September is Su***de Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and show support for those affected by su***de. Every year, September 10 marks World Su***de Prevention Day — a global initiative first launched in 2003 by the International Association for Su***de Prevention. It is a day for individuals, communities, and organizations to come together to promote understanding and encourage open, compassionate conversations.
💛 Through education, connection, and community support, we can make a difference.
To honour this day, a Sacred Fire will be lit on:
📅 September 10
🕔 5:00 – 7:00 PM
📍 Green space at Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre
(401 N. Cumberland Street)
We invite the community to gather with us — to remember loved ones we’ve lost, and to stand in support of those who may be struggling today.
