For years I thought more work = more results. Work really hard, get really good results.

But that's just not true. It's more about staying consistent and taking the rest you need. Because the reality is, sometimes we're just tired. Sometimes more feels like too high a hurdle. Something is better than nothing AND rest is essential!

Your body doesn't get stronger during the workout. It gets stronger during recovery, as your muscle repairs and adapts.

Especially if you're pregnant or postpartum, or navigating hormonal changes, rest isn't lazy. It's strategic.

Your body is already doing massive work. Sometimes the best thing you can do is let it recover, adapt, and rebuild. Don't skip rest days. You don't have to push hard every time.

That's not giving up. That's training smart. ๐Ÿ’ก

Especially if you're navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or just the overall chaos of being a human woman with responsibilities.

Progress isn't a straight line up. It's messy, inconsistent, and it all still counts.

What matters is that you keep showing up, even when it doesn't look or feel perfect. Some days might look a little rusty and some days you're on top of the world.

The truth: building significant muscle mass requires YEARS of intentional training, specific nutrition, and often genetic predisposition.

What strength training actually does:
โœ… Increases bone density
โœ… Improves metabolic health
โœ… Builds functional strength for daily life
โœ… Supports joint health
โœ… Boosts confidence

You're not going to accidentally wake up looking like a bodybuilder. But you might accidentally feel stronger, more capable, and more confident in your body.

It's the start of the year, and this is your reminder that movement doesnโ€™t have to be intense to be effective.

Just 5 minutes of movement โ€” first thing in the morning, during a break, or whenever it fits into your day โ€” can make a real difference.

Feeling stuck? Try this quick 5-minute workout:
๐Ÿ‘‰ 1 set of 10 reps
๐Ÿ‘‰ 10 seconds of rest in between exercises
๐Ÿ‘‰ Modify as needed โ€” something doesnโ€™t feel right, change it
๐Ÿ‘‰ Want to add weights? Do it!
๐Ÿ‘‰ Want to go longer than 5 minutes? Add in another set

This is about supporting your body, not pushing it to extremes. A little movement goes a long way, especially in January.

Thanks so so much all the volunteers and organizers for such a rad event!

This weekend's High Noon was an entertaining, eye opening, raw & real event.

What a unique and uplifting experience to run alongside so many other runners wanting to grind out the kms...including a bunch of marathons, 100km, and 100miles!!

Such a blast to run, walk or trudge beside runners of ALL abilities AND ages. If you have not heard of this event - Mark your calendar for next year folks! It's the best way to push the envelope, challenge what you think you're capable of and come out just a little more grittier than you went in!

I had a ton of fun and achieved my own personal goal while our team totaled 94kms!

Fueled by cherries, tons of salty electrolytes, chips, and GOOD VIBES...
It's true that if you just keep stepping one foot in front of the other, you can achieve great things, even ones you didn't think possible!

Thanks for the energy, encouragement, and experience - that was a solid 24hrs of awesomeness!

Friday afternoons are one of my favorite times of the week... Who doesn't love Friday?! But my hour with Mamas and babies is the most satisfying and empowering... All these mamas that are so tired... Work so hard to a) show up and b) go through rehab AND strength exercises.... Just inspiring!
