CTA provides services in the area of ABA therapy, psychotherapy, speech and occupational therapy.

Creative Therapy Associates has had the honor of providing Speech-Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy to Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario for over 20 years. Our center's professional compliment consists of 4 Occupational Therapists, and 7 Speech Language Pathologists, and 9 Behavioral Therapists. Our caring and experienced therapists each have specific areas of interest and are dedicat

ed to working with children, adults, and families to maximize their skills, build self esteem, and help clients live a quality life. Our centres offers a warm and friendly atmosphere to our clients, and our therapy rooms are designed specifically to welcome our pediatric and adult clients in order to best suit their needs. We strongly believe in client/family centered care, and therefore family involvement is an integral part of the therapy process at all levels. Along with private services to clients within our center, we provide contractual services to various organizations in our city and northern communities, ranging from consultation, in-service training, workshops, direct and indirect delivery models.

Another incredible Confidence Club in the books 🤍

Confidence Club continues to be such a meaningful space where children build confidence, practice real-life social skills, and take brave steps toward their goals each week.

A huge thank you to Abesh, Eileen, and Lauren K. who have been putting so much heart into this group. The care, consistency, and energy you bring is what makes this program so special for the children and families we support.

We had another fun, engaging group and are so proud of the progress we’re seeing. We look forward to continuing to support more children as they build confidence, connection, and independence 💙

Lauren Dewar is out here having way too much fun in Marten Falls… we’re starting to question if she’s coming back 😂

We’ve definitely missed her this week, but we couldn’t be more proud. Watching her step into this work and make such a meaningful impact has been incredible.

From building relationships to supporting teams and helping us reach more children across the north, Lauren is doing exactly what she was meant to do .

Lauren is such an amazing part of our team and an absolute perfect fit in her new role as Remote & Rural Services Manager 🤍

Confidence Club: The Frozen Worries 🧊 ☃️

This evening our kiddos shared a worry or fear, and we froze them in cups of water. Then they had so much fun using a variety of tools to break them free.

The kids were asked how they felt during the activity and answers we received were:
“I feel like I’m in a heart world”
“I feel calm”
“I love how you can be creative”
“I feel much better”

Such a great reminder that with the right tools, we can work through even our biggest worries.

🤍Friendship Builders 🤍

We are so excited to offer our 10-week Friendship Builders program for ages 9–12, running Saturdays from 2:30–4 PM.

This group is designed to be a safe and supportive space where children can:
💙 practice social skills
💙 build confidence and self-esteem
💙 create meaningful connections with peers
💙 learn practical, real-life strategies for navigating friendships

Our team focuses on helping children feel understood, supported, and successful as they grow their social confidence in a fun and engaging environment.

Spots are limited, and groups are thoughtfully curated to ensure the best fit for each child.

We just have to take a moment to give a huge shoutout to Kelly 🤍

Kelly has been going above and beyond, spending her days off helping transform our gym space for our Littles. From painting to prepping, she’s been right in the middle of it all, making sure this space becomes something really special.

It takes a lot of heart to show up like that, especially on your own time, and it truly doesn’t go unnoticed. This is exactly the kind of care and dedication that makes our team so incredible.

We are so excited for this revamp and the fresh new look coming together for our Littles. We can’t wait to share the final space with you all 🤍

Game Changers is a 10-week group designed for youth ages 12–18, focused on building confidence and strengthening social skills through meaningful connection and real-life experiences. Sessions run Thursdays from 5:30–7:00 PM, creating a supportive space where teens can connect with peers, develop communication skills, and grow in a way that feels natural and engaging.

This group begins Thursday, April 16th.

Today is a reminder that acceptance is not just a word, it is action. It is how we show up, how we support, and how we create safe spaces where individuals feel safe to be themselves.

Confidence Club is back starting March 31 💙

Confidence Club is a group-based social program designed to help children build friendships, confidence, and bravery while learning real-life social skills in a supportive and fun environment.

Through games, activities, and guided peer interaction, participants practice skills such as:
• building and maintaining friendships
• starting and maintaining conversations
• teamwork and cooperation
• problem solving with peers
• understanding social cues
• handling bullying and standing up for themselves appropriately
• developing confidence and bravery in social situations

Confidence Club focuses on creating real-life, meaningful opportunities for children to practice social interactions with peers in a structured setting. The goal is to help children feel more confident connecting with others, navigating friendships, and responding to challenging social situations.
Groups are thoughtfully organized based on age, interests, and goals so children are paired with peers who share similar interests and goals.

Our next session begins the week of March 31 and will include three cohorts running at different times to support a range of ages and schedules.

Spaces are limited and groups fill quickly.
