Thanks to everyone who joined us last week for another great session of Sporty Beginnings! 🧡⚽️ From movement to games, it was all about trying new things and having fun together. 😀

Big thanks to our staff, volunteers, and families who made it possible!

Sporty Beginnings is a multi-day group designed to help children build their foundational sport skills like jumping, throwing, catching, and kicking. It's a great way for kids aged 4–6 (but open to older and younger participants too) to stay active and have fun!

George Jeffrey Children’s Centre is excited to invite our clients and their siblings under 12 years old to a special evening at the races, generously donated by the 37A Danny Young Race Team and their sponsor MNP. 🧡🏁

Admission is free for all GJCC clients and their siblings under 12, but all children must be accompanied by an adult, and adults are responsible for purchasing their own tickets.

Please call Hana at 807-625-6803 by Monday, July 21 at 4:00 p.m. On the day of the event, families must arrive at the track between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. and check in with Stacey.

The evening includes exciting opportunities to meet the drivers on the track at 5:45 p.m., followed by races beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will also be a dunk tank with Flagman Ray during intermission, free face painting and balloon sculpting from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., and a free draw to win one of 20 kids’ bikes. Additionally, 150 free hotdog and drink tickets will be handed out, along with fun Tribute Night giveaways.

Families are encouraged to come prepared with sunglasses, a hat, a sweater, and comfortable footwear like runners. We look forward to seeing you there for an exciting and memorable night at the track! 😀

o Introduction to Toileting – This program includes a virtual group workshop and individual consultations with our highly trained staff to provide caregivers with the tools they need to support their young child on the journey to toileting success.
 Start date: Monday, July 7 from 5-7 pm (virtual group workshop)
 Four individual consultations to be scheduled directly with families
o Let’s Focus on Behaviour Reduction – This program provides caregivers with the tools they need to support their children in preventing challenging behaviours from worsening.
 Start date: Wednesday, July 9 from 5-7pm (virtual group workshop)
 Seven individual consultation sessions to be scheduled directly with families

Join us for Learn to Bike, happening Thursdays from July 3 to 24, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Friendship Gardens. 🚴‍♂️ This free program is open to all young riders—bring your tricycle, glider, two-wheeler (with or without training wheels), or adaptive bike. If you don’t have a bike, let us know—we may have one available to loan. Please remember to bring a helmet (every rider must wear one), water, and sunscreen. 🧡

Join us for the next Youth P.A.C.K on Tuesday, July 8th at the George Jeffrey Children's Centre (200 Brock St) from 4:40 to 5:30pm. Held on the second Tuesday of each month, Youth P.A.C.K offers a welcoming space for youth aged 11 and up to socialize, connect, and make new friends. 🧡

Brought to you by the Recreation and Speech-Language Pathology departments, the program is just $2 to attend. To register, please call the GJCC reception at 807-623-4381 any time before the group. 😀
