At George Jeffrey Children’s Centre, each room is thoughtfully designed for a specific purpose, from assessments to therapy to play-based learning.

Behind one door, you might find a space built for movement and strength. Behind another, a calm area for focus and communication. And sometimes… a room that just feels like fun (with a whole lot of purpose behind it).

At George Jeffrey Children’s Centre, every detail matters. Wide, welcoming hallways designed for movement and mobility. A front lobby that feels calm, friendly, and fun, not clinical or overwhelming.

It’s all intentional. Because when children feel comfortable, supported, and at ease, they’re free to explore, learn, and grow.

Spring is in the air… and you’re invited to BLOOM with us 🌸

Join us as we celebrate 65 Years of Possibility at George Jeffrey Children’s Centre with a relaxed, family-friendly Garden Party filled with connection, laughter, and a little hands-on fun.

Enjoy an afternoon of good food, crafts, lawn games, bubbles, and time spent together in a welcoming space designed for everyone. Whether you’re coming to celebrate, connect, or just enjoy a spring day, we’d love to see you there.

Youth: This month, we are keeping it simple and doing a craft. We will also be discussing ideas of what to cook at our May Youth PACK. Feel free to bring in any of your favourite recipes!

Caregivers: While your youth is attending the Youth PACK, Lorrie, our Family Engagement Coordinator, is going to have an Adult socialization time for you. We have named our parent and caregiver group Care and Share.
Light refreshments and snacks will be offered. Lorrie will be there to help facilitate conversations. The Thunder Bay Family Network will be giving us a presentation.
We will not be able to offer Child minding, but will provide activities for siblings to participate in. If you do not want to participate that is okay, your child is still welcome to come to the Youth PACK.

Over the years, George Jeffrey Children’s Centre has built up a pretty incredible collection of adaptive and specialized equipment, all with one goal in mind: making sure no child is left out.

From supportive seating and mobility devices to creative therapy tools that turn hard work into play, every piece helps open the door to new skills, new confidence, and new possibilities.
